They're late coming out of every freaking time out.  >:( ???

Damn, down at the 15.  Tough half, but a 7-3 lead getting the ball back is certainly not the end of the world.  Let's just hope the 2nd half isn't Bethel-esque.

Off the socialize with the family.  Back for the 2nd half.

This is typical Whitworth...they are not super impressive...you are saying "We should be killing these guys" but they are just hanging in there....pisses me off.

I think SJU can run the ball on the edges if they would take it.  You need to keep their LB's honest so you can keep the middle of the field a little bit more loose.

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

They have to finish drives inside the Red Zone- put the foot on the throat & don't let up
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

FYI - In Whitewater today, Justin Beaver made his return pretty routine:

36 rushes 226 yards (6.3/carry).

He took every rushing play for UWW.

Also, UWW showed they are human by making several miscues that nearly cost them the game.  Proved they are not unbeatable.  Tough playing your #1 rival in round 2 of the playoffs, though (tough playing them anytime, for that matter).  UWL played well enough to win.

Alright, I'd put money that we have a better coaching staff than Whitworthless, so let's come out big 2nd half and put this game in the bank.

A tradition unrivaled...

Funny-but in any other game where the road underdog was leading at half-the visitors would be feeling good-but not here. Gotta believe that Jerry will have the TE out of the game in the second half.

wc11. You seem to have the Whitworth game down. One stat that bodes well for the supposition that the Johnnie coaching staff will see what you have is that the Johnnies have outscored their opponents 91 - 7 in the third quarter. That 7 coming against Bethel in the last regular season game.

How come they can't get the ball to Gearman?  ???

same guys from the Stagg of '03

Those refs were the ECAC's refs, the scourge of the East region. :)

That is a great stat but Whitworth has made their living on the turnovers all year long.  If SJU hangs onto the ball then they should be in a strong position the rest of the game.

Clark sounds like he's having trouble throwing an accurate ball on the run.  Look to keep him in the pocket out of the gun.  Clark has in the past made bad turnovers with heat on him.  Just don't let Allan beat you...make Silva the go to guy for Clark.  Whit also brings in Tully in the 5-wide sets and try to go for the homerun ball with him down the seems.

My advice...bring the heat, double Allan and dare the others to make you pay.  SJU on offense...they are moving the ball just need to cut out the yellow hankies and don't give up the turnovers.

Well, we're up, and but for some silly mental mistakes, we should be up for more.  Two things can happen-

1. ) This team can show some killer instinct, come out of the TO, run the ball, use the short pass, and have a 6 minute scoring drive that really puts pressure on Whitworth.

2.) This team can go for a quick kill, go three and out/six and out, and allow Whitworth to climb back in and play rope-a-dope with the Pirates (who have been successful all year doing that).

If we're still in the Bethel mode, number 2 will be the result; if this team has improved since that game, number 1 MUST show itself now.

Let's go Johnnies!

From Frank's half time blog:

Here are some pertinent halftime numbers. Whitworth enjoys the edge on time of possession (16:40 to 13:20). The Johnnies own the edge in total offense (206 to 170).
