Soon we'll be substituting Ramler and Pigpen for the names...  ;D

Crazy to think about!  :o

The White Silly

I think Whitewater will win by 40 pts this weekend in the playoff game.

Hey Silly. Where ya been?

Give me 40 points and SJU and I'll take you up on that for a case of Hamm's.

You youngsters who weren't around when John was named head (and only) football coach that Father Abbott was still elected for life. John just assumed that he was accorded the same privlege.  :D

"frankly, I'd be concerned as a sports fan if he didn't ask the question, considering Grant has turned down UST already"

It's my understanding that St. Thomas didn't offer Grant the job (twice) as crazy as that seems.

Somebody bring a video camera on Saturday. I expect you guys to win this Extreme Tailgating competition...

Who's going to wear the #81 jersey?

How could we lose with TDT-Fins this is in the bag-go spear fishing or whatever and leave the rest to us.

A Linnemann sighting, in Reusse's column:

Local quipster Tom Linnemann in an e-mail to BTQ: "Your Golden Gophers are killing Winona State's RPI."

Reusse had some  other interesting tidbits. Remember former Minnetonka hoops star and Gopher Shane Schilling? He was arrested for robbery. and Marcus Leveusser (sp?) was picked up for a warrant.

Just a question to the Johnnies on the board:

How much does Gags actually do? Some in the conference think that he is just a figurehead, someone who is the face of the program and has little to do with the actual playcalling/gameplanning. I dont claim to know whether this is true or not, but I'm just throwing it out there. I've seen stretches where he just sits on the bench, staring into space without any interaction with any of the other coaches or players.

This is NOT a personal attack on John, merely a question.

Not this again?!?! I'll forgive you since you're a pretty good poster and relatively new, but this gets brought up every six months or so.
The Reader's Digest version of an answer is that he's very involved. He has delegated more in recent years, given his top-shelf collection of assistants. I don't think I've ever seen him sit during a game, though.

Think how often that question will be asked when John's coaching at 90.

Ah yes, the old how much does John do question. Must be Tuesday again :)
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

Exactly how old is John?

He'll need plenty of scheming for UWW.

Belicheck is on the headset......so he's communicating with someone, whereas John stoically sits in his parka..........although you may be right, he could be scheming....and I cant argue with the record he has......although when you have lots of DI and DII castoffs, it helps..........
