Can you say "guilty of first degree, premeditated murder?!!" Thank God this case is over. Life in prison without parole. A lot to look forward for 21 year old Grant Everson.

I will be in Janesville tomorrow night and at the stadium at Whitewater for the Stiftungsfestivities bright and early Saturday morning.

GO JOHNNIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JR, Congrats on a job well done. No wonder you always get re-elected.  :)

bennie, I'll send you an autographed mug.  :D

Just PM me and I'll ship one out.  ;)

BTW, where the hell is finsleft?  ???

IN ADDITION TO THE HEAVY SNOWFALL...VERY STRONG NORTHEAST WINDS GUSTING TO 35 MPH WILL PRODUCE AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW TONIGHT AND FRIDAY...CREATING NEAR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS AT TIMES.

What's the issue?  Do your guys drop the ball in the cold weather?

Lucky for you the bad weather is on Friday.  Forecast for Saturday remains at Partly cloudy skies. High 33F. Winds WSW at 10 to 15 mph.

Better collect all the hair dryers of the men's dorms so that you can melt the snow on the field.

Oz, they covered the field.  Tuesday I think.  I suspect the field will be in pretty good shape, all things considered.  It was last year.

You know, I feel bad for Dan Monson.

He's a solid guy, but it just didn't work for him here.

Good luck, God Bless and we'll see you in the first round of the NCAA Tourney versus your Illinois Tech squad.

That will be in 2010 when we clean up this mess.

Where's Tmerton this week? Did someone give him an excused absence slip?  :D

Just a guess, but I think he's still trying to recover from the beat down of Notre Dame that I started earlier this week  :-*
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Well, its Friday afternoon and it's a sunny 73 degrees.  Summer is approaching and Spring Fever is setting in.  Big time.  I took a walk around the gardens across the road over lunch and as I look at them out the window now I struggle to keep my eyes open.  I'm working up the energy to hop a tram into the city and buy some Christmas presents.  I may have to grab a "pygmy" coffee to give the eyes a prop.

You care why?  Well, you don't.  I'm just doing my best to seed whatever jealousy I can manage with the lucky ones traveling to Wisconsin this weekend.  (Now how many times does a Minnesotan type that sentence?)

Touchdown Tommy

Greetings friends,

2 undefeated conference champions down in the West Region, 1 to go.  With any luck (12 inches of powder in Chicagoland) TDT will be touching down tomorrow afternoon at O'Hare circa 12:30pm embarking on the 3rd leg of the Traveling Road Show (4th if you include Bethel).

BlueDevil BOB: I promise not to drink any Busch Light (except during the shotgunning contests) on Saturday.  Sounds like Old Style (a personal favorite) and Leinie's will be available in plentiful quantities.  Is Todd making the trip?

Hope Mr. Tomczik says hi to Touchdown Tommy on Saturday!!  :o  :o

Easy there Crocodile Johnnie:

Here's some song lyrics to make you feel loved :P

Traveling in a fried-out combie
On a hippie trail, head full of zombie
I met a strange lady, she made me nervous
She took me in and gave me breakfast
And she said,

"Do you come from a land down under?
Where women glow and men plunder?
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover."

Buying bread from a man in Brussels
He was six foot four and full of muscles
I said, "Do you speak-a my language?"
He just smiled and gave me a vegemite sandwich
And he said,

"I come from a land down under
Where beer does flow and men chunder
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover."

Lying in a den in Bombay
With a slack jaw, and not much to say
I said to the man, "Are you trying to tempt me
Because I come from the land of plenty?"
And he said,

"Oh! Do you come from a land down under? (oh yeah yeah)
Where women glow and men plunder?
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover."

Thanks for that.  Gave me a chuckle.  And a reason to waste another 20 minutes before heading into town.  I'll do a little translating because this tune has some good Aussie slang in it.

Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover."

Lying in a den in Bombay
With a slack jaw (too lazy to talk), and not much to say
I said to the man, "Are you trying to tempt me
Because I come from the land of plenty?"
And he said,

"Oh! Do you come from a land down under? (oh yeah yeah)
Where women glow and men plunder?

And the trivia tidbit?  It was written by a Scot, not even an Aussie.

Here's a drinking contribution for the weekend.  Aussie rhyming slang as a toast when knocking back a coldie:

Drinker #1: Cheers, big ears
Drinker #2: Same goes, big nose

I haven't read the last 80 pages so are you joining us in WW? If not could you fix me up with another BDB mug? I would kindly ask Dusty to be the messenger in that case.

Raider, DustySJU left here a while ago with a case of mugs so look for him to get yours.

ROR, I wrote on the side of the box specific instructions:

TDT- NO BUSCH LIGHT  :D

I forgot to mention Zima.

Greetings BDB/Rico/StoutGuy/Coaches Andrist, Watkins, Thomas and the rest of the Blue Devil Booster club;

Despite the refusal of BlueDevilBob to acknowledge the peace offertory extended today from Menomonie to the small college sporting base of Minnesota, an olive branch was indeed tendered this noon hour at the Blue Devil Boosters Club.

At the behest of SamWill and the very generous invitation of BDB, I DustySJU, was not only invited to attend this Stout gathering but also invited to expound on the cagey football sage Gagliardi.

Bob and Steve's "Bob" launched a very apt description of what D3Football.Com provides in the area of information and touched on all the fun we have sparring amongst we "handle bearers"!  Even Men's BBC Eddie Andrist acknowledged the MIAC dominates in the area of active posters.

Speaking of Bob and Steve's I indeed posses 1 case of specially guarded Stiftungsfestivity mugs with special inscriptions AND instructions from BDB.

Thank you BDB for the gracious invitation and tour of your facilities

The conversation with the Blue Devil Boosters was almost a draw with those claiming a Warhawk victory dance and those predicting VICTORY for St. John's University.

I'll side with Blue Devil Bob and his band of Blue Devil buddies StoutGuy and Rico - a huge win for the football god and his Johnnie gridiron squad!

You guys all knew that of course.  ;)

Congrats on your verdict, JR. That's cool that the judge sentenced him right then. I googled this Everson kid. Who is Peter Ivy?

Travel safely, you guys.

Busy workin' - as with Fins it happens every once in a while.  Been too busy to even read the board during the day much less post.  But +k for noticing.

BTW, those Song Girls at the bottom of your posts are a lot better looking than the Song Boys at the bottom of mine! Kinda the ying and yang of SC  :D

And lest you think that not being on this site has helped me avoid grief, fear not.  The Skunkbears at work here are both mad and sneering, and even my friend who is the Dean of the med school at SC decided to call and gloat.   My focus, however, is on this week's game of the century in Whitewater.  Go Johnnies!

Touchdown Tommy

Tmerton: Are you gonna be there on Saturday? Or waiting for the return trip to the Austin area? I trust you'd be showing the Johnnies around town...

Don't know if anyone's been following the travails of the Pioneer Press. They had 21 senior people in the newsroom take buyouts, including sports guys Jim Wells and Mike Fermoyle, two veteran preps guys. All told, the paper's losing more than 500 years of experience. As an old newspaper guy, it's tough to see one of the state's big papers get gutted like that.

Of course, I'm sure clem Haskins wishes these cuts would have been made seven years ago. Gangelhoffgate might have never been uncovered. And Clem wouldn't have had to resign. And Monson wouldn't have had to leave Gonzaga. and on and on.

I saw that-- it's too bad the PP has fallen on such hard times.  I have always admired the quality of the PP's stories and the depth of their reporting.  Combine that and the reports of plagiarism at the Strib and you really worry about where news media is heading in this country.  I don't always agree with the PP's editorial page, but in my dealings with their reporters, they have been nothing but outstanding.
