If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Why our judicial system blows chuncks....no offense to all you lawyers!  Either that or this is why TDT is so messed up!

MR-
That article really has nothing to do with lawyers or "our judicial system". It does speak volumes, however, about one mother's parental abilities and the dubious integrity of one small southern town's police department.

The fact that the child is being charged has a little to do with the judicial system....The cops should have told the mom to quit wasting their time

"He was arrested on petty larceny charges, taken to the local police station in handcuffs and held until his mother picked him up after church."
Maybe Mom should have had him in church with her?

Fins at church -- Let's see, Fins can be seen at church on Christmas, Easter and at the Friday fish fry during Lent ... did I miss one?  ;D

Mighty Royal,

I don't know your age or how you were brought up.  Being almost 50 and having raised 4 boys.  The trouble does not lie with lawyers or cops.  The trouble is with all the liberal crap.  That poor mom can not use corporal punishment any more without being a child beater.  I used it on my kids and I don't think they turned out badly.  I have seen stories on here about the nuns, brothers, and priests in schools.  I think that the mother did what she had to do to bring home a point to her kid.  Her kid takes a swing at the school cop and gets kicked out of school.  Seems to me he is a candidate for prison already.  I think he needs a huge swift kick in the a$$.

WAHOO3

In case you didn't see it, some kid at Brockport played for their team but wasn't a student at the school. The team had to forfeit the 3 games they won that he played in. Thats crazy, when you think about it, the other team would really have no way to know. If the school didn't self report it may never have been noticed. Wierd.

From Shooters column today!

) Only Ohio State and Michigan (eight each) among Big Ten Conference teams will have played in more bowl games than the Gophers (seven) during the past eight years.

Wow, I guess those tidy bowls the "U" has been going to do count for something! ;D

Which one?
The elder little one is now finishing up Med School at the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities campus (as tUMD campus only has two years of med school there, then they transfer everyone to the main branch).  He may have been down there for rotation, as I think he's at Regions hospital currently, though they occasionally head over to HCMC for things.  So it is possible...

The younger little one may have been down to get passport stuff ready for his "study a broad" trip to London that starts in January...

Speaking of the medical profession, I just caught this in the Strib writer blog.  It's pretty funny.

St.Thomas president back at work after fall with grace
Submitted by Joe Kimball, Star Tribune Staff Writer on Wed, 12/06/2006 - 3:18pm.

The Rev. Dennis Dease, president of the University of St. Thomas, is recovering from shoulder surgery after taking a fall when he tripped on a raised sidewalk while speed-walking last month near the campus.

Dease told the St. Thomas student newspaper, The Aquin, that the emergency room doctor examined him and then dispensed two bits of bad news. First:  "Your shoulder is dislocated." Second:  "I’m a Johnnie."

...
Despite affiliations, Dease's shoulder is healing well and he's is back at work.

Papa KR was never afraid to dish out a physical lesson when it was needed and I think I turned out all right.
My favorite was the middle finger thump on the side of the head, he called 'em "Brain Thumps" to help remind me of what I should and shouldn't be doing.
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.
