Touchdown Tommy

Is the Pace Arrow still for sale??

Sidenote: TDT would like to apologize for his extended absence from Post Patterns.  The President has been busy spreading Holiday Cheer.  Weather here today: 82 high/sunny...62 low

BTW: I'll be available on Conference Call with ROR on Saturday.  Hope all members of the Classless A$$hole Club are on their best behavior.

FYI: Very bad feeling on Saturday.  First time in a month the Prez wasn't presiding over a Johnnie contest.  It is official the Stagg Bowl will now be MUCk versus the Winner of the West Region...

I'd be absent, too.

Fins,

The ice up this way took a hit over the weekend! Doesn't look like we will be maiking much this week either. Best be careful out there!  ;)

Thanks for the warning. I measured 10" where I was yesterday. And it's good ice. Was wishing I had ice skates on, I would've had a 730 acre rink. The biggest risk was slipping and hitting your head on the ice.  :o
I'm always careful, though. Haven't tasted a fish yet that I thought was worth dieing for.(Grandma's sunnies were close).

Yeah, that stuff is slick!  I saw many people skating.  I wiped out several times, myself.

You got +k for that, ROR.

The SJU football dinner/banquet/whatever was last night.  I'm not sure how big a deal it is and don't have any reports.  Presumably they gave out team awards and such.  Anyway, just another excuse to say what a great year it was (and how close the Johnnies came to going back to the Stagg).  Fall practice starts in only 8 months!  8)

It's no big deal.  Get together, John says a few things, they hand out the all-conference/all-american awards and that type of thing, then the seniors all get a chance to speak.  That's the cool part.  Then, it's off to Old Country Buffet so the o-linemen can gorge themselves.

Almost funny enough to make me forget da buck that got away Saturday :-\
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

Now, Duffman, don't be dissing the OLINEMEN.  They have to keep up their strength!!  Without Oliners, there is no offense, PERIOD.  No fancy tailbacks scoring tds, QBs throwing passes and all that jazz.  OLINERS are   THE MEN   I even colored it Johnny Red.  Soon we will all be without football.  8 months until the season starts again.  Ugh,  Argh!!   The OOOOOOOs have to keep in shape!!!
Oh and by the way, you should come to the STAGG.  I sure cheered for you all when you all were there last!!  And you won a great victory!!I still have Coach Gagliardi e-mail response to my congrats saved.  Stone Station does an awesome tailgate for both teams at the Stagg.  I'll take barbecued chicken and brownies over those sticks any day. ;D ;D ;D
PS I also saved the picture of you in the WW hat.  It just looked right somehow. ;)  even if it was because you lost a bet.
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

I think this is probably just available to Sports Illustrated subscribers, but Johnnie fans will be interested in a special issue that just arrived today. It's 50 years of Faces in the Crowd. They show hundreds of the ones over the years, most of people who went on to become huge stars. People like Tiger woods (1990), Steve Prefontaine (1969), Bobby Fischer (1956), Carl Lewis (1978), Bill Walton not yet spouting nonsense (1970),  Lew Alcindor, aka, kareem (1964) and tons more.

But it also includes six new ones, numbers 15,667 through 15,672, it reports. And one is Jamie Steffensmeier. There's the normal mug shot and a short wrapup of his season, but also a full-page action shot of him catching a ball.

Haven't gone through it all yet to see if there's any past MIACers.

Your right olinemom,  the o-linemen need to stay in shape and "round" is a shape (JK).  Being a former D-lineman (and I think Duff will agree with me) the men are on the defensive side of the ball.  As my old coach used to say the offense has two advantages on the D.  1. They know what the play is.  2. they know when the ball is going to be snapped.  SO the real men need to be on D. (otherwise the O would score on every play) ;D
