BDB:

Enjoy the gift...I sensed it will come in a distant #3 in rankings to the last few Christmas gifts...at least I can prove I played in one game!

Nonsense, SamWill! I love it.  :)

SamWill gave me this huge picture of the natural bowl during a game in which he played from 1994 vs the Gusties. Beautiful picture with the title "COLLEGEVILLE" on it.

Ole #47 up on the D-line no less! Get back! Your a linebacker.  ;)

For some reason I was convinced I was going to get some Johnnie gear so I would have something to wear to Stiftungfestivities next time. (hint)  :D

Thanks SamWill, the picture is going up on my office wall.

Pretty soon, I'll have more SJU stuff in here than BlueDevil stuff.  :-X  ;D  8)

BDB - I can't help you with Wild tickets, but if you ever find that you're going to be in Milwaukee when there is an Admirals game, I can get vouchers to you. Since tickets run between $15 - $20, it's hardly a magnanimous gesture on my part, and it's never sold out. In fact, there are rarely more than 3 - 4,000 there, so GOOD tickets are always available. It's good hockey (players from last years team - Shea Weber, Greg Zanon, Vern Fiddler, Scottie Upshall, Jordan Tootoo are now with the Preds, along with Alexander Radulaov, who was brought up this year, and Kris Beech with the Caps).

JR - Irish and German huh? You don't happen to like beer do you?

BDB

retagent, thanks for the offer, I'll keep that in mind.  :)

Just ordered this hockey video recommended by USA Hockey for all youth players and their families for my boy for X-Mas.

The trailer can be found here:

Looks pretty cool.

I think MUC's going to be able to run on UWW's defense.  SJU (who hasn't had much of a running game since 1999) showed some spurts of being able to run the ball against UWW.  Granted, it wasn't consistent and they didn't stick with it, much to my disappointment.

Duffman;   Are you overlooking the greatest breakout season ever by a St. John's running back in the name of Kent "Sleepy" Crowley circa 2002?  As a senior he bolted from the ranks of special teamers to starting running back and compiled the second greatest rushing total for a single season of all time (1,411 yards, a mere 64 yards off of Tim Schmitz's single season record).  "Sleeepy" lead your final charge through 4 rounds of the DIII playoffs before sucumbing to the Trinity Tigers.

The descendant of the Four Horseman proved money in 2002.

Is there a RB waiting in the wings in 2007 ???

Developing....  8)

Kent really did turn it on in the playoffs.  I really had no idea that he amassed that many yards in 2002.  I was too busy trying to catch my breath to watch much of the offense.

If Chris Moore could have stayed healthy his junior and senior season...that would have been scary.

A tradition unrivaled...

Chris was good, but he was no Tim Schmitz. :)

He would have broken every record if he would have stayed healthy.

Johnnie Red

retagent, I honestly don't drink that much beer anymore. Seems like wine does the trick. Probably goes back to the time I spent in the Willamette Valley visiting all the wineries when I was at McMinnville and the CatDome.

May want to watch Channel 5 at 5 and 6 tonight on a new criminal case. Pretty interesting, to say the least.

Great place for it, BDB.  I have mine hanging in my office right over my computer so I can look up at it when things get slow.  Keep in mind, though, that there are another 60 kids on the sidelines these days (by my count there are only 120 in the 'Collegeville' picture while there were 180+ in uniform for the WEC game this year).

Bennie - Trying to get in touch with my feminine side leads me to the conclusion that you might like to do more than google the opera guy. Or is that what they're calling it now?

Nah, he's not my type! I prefer men that are less high maintenance. If anyone is going to be throwing hissy fits, it is going to be me! Besides, he doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would appreciate Johnnie football and that is a requirement before any serious googling takes place! ;)  ;D

BDB - I hesitated to give props to BDB jr because if he does well, he might get to like playing goalie, and there's really no excuse for that. Having hard rubber flung at you from all angles is not something I would wish on anyone.
I get your drift retagent. He's not into the hard rubber puck stopping thing other than with his stick and move it forward.
But we have to have someone in goal, right bennie?  ???

Hey, maybe TDT is available. I am sure some would line up to shoot a puck at him! ;) ;D

Poor TDT! :-* :D

bennie,
I see the Blazer swimmers are going to compete in the Orange Bowl Classic in Key Largo on Jan. 6 - you gonna be there cheering?  :P

What and miss out on all the rain, cloud cover and predicted 50 mph gusts here in Oregon? :D Hmm...Key Largo...one of my favorite Sarah Vaughan songs...and unfortunately as close as I will get! ;D

Did you and Bud nab the Chanhassen kidnapper? Lured in with a bean and green onion burrito?

Hmm...Key Largo... the Bogie movie with Eddie Robinson as Johnny Rocco had a lot of rain and over 100 mph wind  -- oops you are not old enough to know there used to be black & white movies.  :D

Fins - I have many fond memories of my numerous visits to Key West.  Upon entering the city the last time I was down there I inquired at a local shop as to what events were going on that weekend.  The man answered, "This weekend is very exciting!  There are drag races downtown."  As I left the store I turned to my brother, who had never been to Key West before, and I told him that there is only one type of drag races that could possibly be taking place in Key West.  Sure enough, as we rounded the corner there were two or three blocks of Duvall street that were closed off and about 10 or 12 transvestites all dressed in "drag" running through obtacle courses.  I laughed my ass off watching them try to negotiate the tire obstacles wearing pumps.

You can always count on having a good time in Key West.

Go Johnnies!!!

Must've been a sight. I just hope they're having one of those airbrush paint-the-clothes-on parties when I get there. Of course, Finsleft always puts in some time at Margaritaville.  8) 8)
