I'm on the Purple Raider bandwagon as well.  Wow, that was difficult to type.

I'm thinking MUC wins this one somewhat handily, something along the lines of 24-14.  UWW wasn't as impressive against SJU as I expected (and I haven't been shy about saying this wasn't a particularly great vintage out of Collegeville).  I just think Mount Union does what they always do.

Of to celebrate Christmas for a few hours.  (No PBR in the community cooler yet again...  bastards.)  Back with some thoughts after the game.

I'm here looking for Raider guy and scouting tailgate locations for JR and crew next December, returning to the site of my first Stiftungfest burger ....

I keep trying to tell youse guys that UWW was very impressive against UWL and Wesley. I would hazard a guess that the SJU game was either an anomoly, or another credit to the great coaching staff at Collegeville. I would like to think it was the latter, by the way.

That sucked missing the kickoff for a bball game that was locked up already.  ANd I'm also a college b-ball and Coach Knight fan but come on this is the National Championship.

What is with UWW? They need to do something down 14-3 or this game is over.

How about a return?  ;D

How about that?

On a level five hangover...but I did happen to see a few minutes of the DII game. At halftime Rece Davis said "over on ESPN later today the Wis-Whitewater Warthogs vs the Mount Union..."

Good one Rece.

UWW backfield-

Beaver and Hunt

Figured you MIAC guys would get a kick out of that

Congrats to Mount Union on yet another championship and congrats to WW for making it to the championship game for 2 years in a row and representing the WIAC well.

I think the 2 keys to the game were,

1. Pierre Garcon.  As a poster mentioned earlier in the week, WW has no one who can cover him.  I thought WW should have bumped him alot more at the line.

2. Mount Union makes TDs and WW makes FGs.  I think WW was in the red zone 5 times, and only 16pts.

A couple other comments,

What was up with the exchanges between Jacobs and Beaver?  About 5 or 6 times that the exchange was fumbled/bobbled.  After 2 years of handoffs, I was very surprised that this occured.

It was just a matter of time before WW's punter got a kick blocked.  I have seen the videocasts in the playoffs and I noticed right away that he just takes too long to get kicks off.  I believe St John's tipped one of his punts.

As for WW, a lot of questions going into next year replacing players and coach(es).  However, I am sure they will have a great year next year.

As for Mount Union, I expect to see them in next year's Stagg Bowl.

Sorry..... Wrong board.  I was wondering were my post went  ???

I was hoping WW would win today; however, MU played a lot better. WW had its opportunities, both in the redzone and taking shots. Their QB missed a couple throws where guys were open (not wide open). Congrats to both teams, especially MU - on another title. I just hope someone else wins in next year.

Also, I wish the ESPN broadcasters did a little better job of telling the D3 story. I love D3 football and the uniqueness of the players and the schools involved. I just wish they were able to cover the game while putting a better D3 spin on it. All they talk about is how these kids could play D2 or D3, but not why they choose not to. I think that the key, is why players of their calliber choose to play D3 and what D3 offers that the other divisions don't. Just my take. D3 is special, and I don't think ESPN has done a very good job of getting that accross.

1994, I remember it well.  I was in 8th grade.  Sartell won state that year.  Kubiak was probaly sporting a sweet mullet, too.

Over my Northfield Raiders, I was on the team.  Lost that one...  next year, my junior year, lost that one too, to Detroit Lakes in the semi-finals.  Then, my senior year, lost to Mora in the Finals.  I think each of the teams we lost to ended up handing a handful of guys go up and play for the Johnnies.

Congrats to MUC.  They played very well today and deserved the win.  However, I wish UWW could have won it for Brezowitz.   Before my dad took the job at Olaf, we spent two years where he was the head ATC at UWW.  The Brezowitz family were friends of ours and treated us very well. Bob was a great person not only a great coach.  Congratulations to his team, and great job on a wonderful career.  I'm sure the Warhawks will miss him on the sideline.

Out of order, I'll show you out of order! You don't know what out of order is, Mr Task! I'd show you but I'm too old, I'm too tired, and I'm too f----n blind. If I were the man I was 5 years ago, I'd take a FLAMETHROWER to this place. Out of order, who the hell do you think you're talking to?

Mount wins again-almost by a Monkey Stomp-yikes. Really bad thing is SJU and the MIAC have a lot of improving to do if they want to hang with Mount next year.
