One more thing.  I thought the color guy was terrible.  I only saw the final 10 minutes of the game or so, but he sounded near-death and/or drunk.  I was glad I didn't have to listen to his incoherent ramblings the entire game.  If it were possible, I would have sworn he was the love-child of my least favorite commentators...McCarver, Walton,Theismann, and one of my favorites, Harry Caray.

I'd have to agree on this too, had to turn off the audio and just watch the game, I normally do that since color guys always state the obvious and drive me crazy when I'm watching the game, but this guy was bad as they come.  Too bad he recently had a stroke, maybe he was better before the incident....

Someone opined to me that maybe Mike Gottfried took speech and diction lessons from Lou Holtz.

Gottfried has a lisp?

Commentary isn't Lou's forte, but if you want someone to turn a program around, he's your guy.  Why, take the U for example ... What??  You say he already did that??

raiderguy

Just a quick note for now.

Thanks y'all (where did that come from?)

For your kind words and wishes. The Stagg Bowl never gets old!  LOLU.

I shared some Stone Station hospitality and a few beers with Woody and Tom. They were there earlier in the week to present the Gagliardi Trophy.  We were picking out spots for next years tailgate.  RIGHT?

Dam basketballl-miss the kickoff-what's uo with that. But-DIII in HD-excellent.

That sucked missing the kickoff for a bball game that was locked up already.  ANd I'm also a college b-ball and Coach Knight fan but come on this is the National Championship.

Our online audio coverage did not miss a snap.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

I've already got a replacement for the Paris Hilton cd for the 2007 Stiftungsfestivities: Nelly Furtado, "Loose." She rocks.

Congrats to MUC(k) for the Stagg Bowl title. Looked like the weather was great in Salem.

Pencil in Saturday, February 17, 2007 for the BockFest in New Ulm. This will be the next MIAC d3 gathering.

VOJ

Johnnie Red...all the Johnnie fans should be in St. Paul to see the J's hoops team face St. Thomas ...could be for the MIAC regular season title

Now that the Stagg is over the MIACPP Football Hot Stove League is OFFICIALLY OPEN.

The older the violin - the sweeter the music!

Johnnie Red

VOJ, I just went to the hoops schedule and noticed that the Johnnies will be at Tommieland the afternoon of February 17. :-\ That is going to be a tough choice: UST or New Ulm.

Basketball or Bockfest...

Tough choice???  Not for this guy ;).

A tradition unrivaled...
MIAC Champions: '32, '35, '36, '38, '53, '62, '63, '65, '71, '74, '75, '76, '77, '79, '82, '85, '89, '91, '93, '94, '95, '96, '98, '99, '01, '02, '03, '05, '06, '08, '09, '14, '18, '19, '21, '22, '24
National Champions: '63, '65, '76, '03

Johnnie Red

Duffman, I would tend to agree with you. Now if the Johnnies were wrestling Auggie Tech in Mpls, that would be a really tough choice. Mmmm, listening to police sirens or polka music. ;)

A woman's husband dies, leaving $50,000 to be used for an elaborate funeral.

After everything is done at the funeral home and  cemetery, she tells her
closest friend that "there is absolutely nothing left from the $50,000."

The friend asks, "How can that be?"

The widow says, "Well, the funeral cost was $7,500.  And of course I made a
donation to the church -- that was $500, and I spent another $2000 for the
wake, food and drinks -- you know. The rest went for the memorial stone".

The friend says, "$40,000 for the memorial stone? My God, how big is it?"

The widow says, "Four and a half carats".
