finsleft, it would have been nice for my little girl to be at St. Ben's. Her concern: "Dad, you would have been at my dorm room every other Saturday afternoon in the fall!"

I did put in a call to her this morning. About 90 miles north of Boulder, her vehicle spun out and went off the road. Shortly after that another vehicle did the same. By now they were on the median because that was the only safe place to be. Then all of a sudden a semi came down the road and started to jack knife and almost hit my daughter's car. Pretty scary stuff. Police did arrive. The fellow whose car went off the road after my daughter's did helped her push the car back onto the road. They then drove to a GM dealership at the next town and the dealer helped clean out the lower portion of the car because it was packed with snow at no charge to my daughter. That was nice. Sounds like the roads are fine where she is now.

Piperinsider, nice photos for a Friday. Interesting to see that Hamline's new coach has ties to Linfield. One can only anticipate that the stadium at Hamline will be called the "PiperDome" this coming fall. You could probably tell us if there is an Elks Club close to the campus to really make the coach feel at home. ;)

JR - Thats good news.  Heres to safe travel the rest of the way.

Just about to call it a day before the drive home.  +K and Happy Holidays to MIAC PP from the East Coast.

JR, glad to hear it things are looking better.

I spoke to someone in Lincoln yesterday and they said it was all clear in that area.
They didn't get any snow.

Your concern: All the young bucks from the Stiftungsfestivities at her dorm room every other weekend in the fall.  ;)
Is she as good a cook as you? If so, watchout!!

Here's wishing your daughter and all the travelers out there this weekend a safe trip and a Merry Christmas.

Snow in Lincoln?  Who ever heard of such a thing?

December 1983 - Snow all over the place and the high temperature in Lincoln never got above zero degrees F during the entire month. Never ever - and I was there each of those friggin days. That same winter they also came within a day or two of setting a new record for consecutive days of snow cover on the ground.  But ever since that winter I understand Lincoln has been a tropical paradise.

A 3-year-old boy examined his testicles while taking a bath.

"Mom," he asked, "Are these my brains?"

"Not yet," she replied.

My wife made some of those Special K+ wreaths for Christmas, so I shared with all the usual suspects on the past 4 pages.

My wife's new favorite NFL player, Bubba Franks. Why you may ask? Two reasons, first the fumble on the goal line and second the holding call on the last scoring drive making Green Bay kick a field goal making the final score 9-7. Guess what numbers Mrs. 105 had in the office pool? Of course winning a poinsettia wouldn't make me nearly as happy as it did for her ;)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Shooter is reporting...
QuoteHamline hires football coach: It will be announced that Hamline has hired Texas Lutheran associate head coach-offensive coordinator Jim Good as head coach, succeeding Paul Miller. Hamline received more than 100 applications for the job.

Before coaching at Texas Lutheran, Goode, 35, was quarterbacks coach at NCAA Division III national power Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore.

Interesting- neither TLU nor Hamline have announced it yet.  Here's the bio on Good from TLU.  Strange that he'd be leaving TLU especially when they are looking for a new head coach as well...

I think if we take Anna off Duff's Christmas card and put her on Fins' tropical Christmas profile we may have the perfect Christmas scenario! ;D

Santa wouldn't even have to bother showing up!
I fly any cargo that you can pay to run
The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run
