Happy New Gear (hope you got some nice new ties and waders for Christmas) and Happy New Year (great year for football coming up)!  +k to all who've been sober enough to make it to the board this year!  Should be a great year to come, but won't you come home Bill Bailey (aka MR)?

DuffMan

Severe hangover for Duff this morning.  Suprisingly, I took a nice, little snooze and felt nearly normal after than.

friggin 2:30 am and I am still too jacked to sleep after watching the Boise State/OU game!!  Had to be, aside from the 2003 stagg, the greatest game Ive seen.

Happy Anibirthtines Day to all for 2007!

Duff, what was the level of the handover, according to our East coast bretheren?

As of Friday, i am no longer a taker of Warafin, and am on the fast track back to alcoholic status!  I will be in fine form for the beginning of the 07 season!

wow, just heard on PA and Dubay a call bring up Larry Kehres for the U job here in MN.

They dismissed it pretty quick, but I don't necessarily think it would be that bad of an idea.  Although, I bet it would be tough to get him to leave MUC.

Any ideas?
I didn't do it....yet.

Couldn't help but think of you all as I'm sporting my new cap from Scheel's.(you get one "free" with any purchase over $250). I keep trying to figure out how I could stitch a "w" between the "Sch" and the "eel's".

finsleft, if you figure out how to get that "W" in there, I'll take a dozen!  :D

By the way, everyone I ask around here knows what schweel means.  ;D

I can think of 2 reasons why I would like that.

At this point in his career, I doubt Kehres is interested in making a lateral move, let alone a step back.

There was a man who worked for the Post Office whose job it was to process all the mail that had illegible addresses.

One day, a letter came addressed in a shaky handwriting to God with no actual address.  He thought he should open it to see what it was about.

The letter read:

Dear God,

I am an 83 year old widow, living on a very small pension. Yesterday someone stole my purse.  It had $100 in it, which was all the money I had until my next pension check.

Next Sunday is Christmas, and I had invited two of my friends over for dinner. Without that money, I have nothing to buy food with.  I have no family to turn to, and you are my only hope.  Can you please help me?

Sincerely,
Edna

The postal worker was touched. He showed the letter to all the other workers. Each one dug into his or her wallet and came up with a few dollars. By the time he made the rounds, he had collected $96, which they put into an envelope and sent to the woman.

The rest of the day, all the workers felt a warm glow thinking of Edna and the dinner she would be able to share with her friends.

Christmas came and went.  A few days later, another letter came from the same old lady to God.  All the workers gathered around while the letter was opened.  It read,

Dear God:

How can I ever thank you enough for what you did for me? Because of your gift of love, I was able to fix a glorious dinner for my friends.  We had a very nice day and I told my friends of your wonderful gift.

By the way, there was $4 missing.  I think it must have been those bastards at the Post Office.

Sincerely,
Edna

I know of a coach U of M can have. His first name starts with a M and his last name starts with a B. Granted, he seems to think that the uniform makes the team, but I am sure you all can work with that. He has connections that can get you all name brand shoes (aka Nike) for the price of your soul! Just think, your Athletic Director won't ever have to make a decision by himself again! ;) ;D

And instead of tire tracks on the shoulders, it could be snowmobile tracks! ;)

Interesting enough......LK knows many of the U of M staff.  He was out in AZ for another reason, but did attend that game.  He was commenting he would probably get a chance to stand on the sidelines.  Wouldn't THAT be an interesting turn if they offered him the job?

It would probably be enough of a challenge, and quite a step up that I would bet he would at least consider it.

That is if he doesn't get the Alabama job after Saban turns it down.   ;D

Skunks,

Thanks, I thought the caller had a decent point there.  I think Kehres would actually stand a chance of turning around the Gopher program.  Good connections in Ohio, a great reputation among coaches and most of all a killer instinct in a football coach.  (I am so tired of the 4th quarter deer in the headlights look that Mason would get.)
I didn't do it....yet.

Courtesy of our brethren on the Liberty League site, here is a TV shot of a USC Song Girl from the Rose Bowl!

Hope I don't get sent downtown for this! :D
