Not that the conversations that are going on aren't interesting, although they're not, I thought I would chime in with some football.

I work with at least one former MIAC football player from the top 5 MIAC football programs and we were having a discussion today about which MIAC coach would be the best fit for the Gopher position (noting that we realize that would never happen, it was a way to not do work).

In the end we all settled on Terry Horan. If you've had a chance to meet him, you know he has charisma and a leadership style that players migrate to. He has done a great job in bringing volume and quality recruits into a city way up North on the plains. He has shown an ability to scheme towards his strengths and be consistent. Of all the coaches in the MIAC, I think he is best suited to create a program at the U that would be respected and steadily improve. Just our take.

Well, now that's interesting. ;)

wahoo - Better than NDSU's Boll? He was the talk of KFAN's fanline all day Monday...

And not a word about your Virginians thrashing of Gonzaga the other night in hoops? I might have expected TMert's like silence after a loss, but that was a darn impressive win.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Interesting timing Wahoo. We are having a discussion on the BB board about CORDS recruiting in BB. Horan is a tireless recruiter in CORDS backyard. Whoever gets the gopher job would do well to emulate this practice in the Twin Cities!
I fly any cargo that you can pay to run
The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run

WAHOO3

Just to clarify, I don't think Horan has a chance at the job, not do any of the MIAC coaches, but we were just conversing about which coach out of the MIAC would to the best job.

Willy - Personally, I think Boll is a great candidate. I would rather get a guy who knows how to recruit in this region and knows that state; rather than a big shot who gets paid a lot of money for a few years and takes off.

Fins - Agreed, the difference between interesting and relevance can be different. However, I think everyone on this board is somewhat relevantly interested in football (even if they don't really know anything about it) compared to other topics that are thrown around on here. Agree to disagree.

Sumander - Horan is a great recruiter. With 100% certainty, if Christopherson would have left a year earlier and Horan had been there my senior year I would have gone to Cobberland instead of Oleville. I know he cleans up in the Dakotas and Montana as well as Northern Minnesota. It is concerning with all the recruits they've had come in over the past few years they (like 75 a year) couldn't rebuild there O-line this year.

The Wahoo hoopsters seem to be playing a lot better in their new arena. They just got a new arena this year that is state of the art. Pretty pimp. Romping the Zags is always great, even when they aren't ranked. The opening win against Arizona was pretty impressive. I just hope they make the tourney.

Relax, wahooooo! I never said I disagreed with you. I was just razzing you a little bit. But I don't mind a little football thrown into the mix here. Just as long as no one goes overboard... ;D

See? I just brought your karma back down into the respectable double figures. :-*

Just don't bring up spanking, I heard you can get reported to the moderator for that.  ::)

Geez, get over yourself.  I would have been "like" silent here even if ND had won.  But I'm still waiting for you to show me a post where I had "crowed" over a ND win (your claim of "like" last month).

Can't we all just get along?

I'm not going to put up with this bickering.

I tried to give you +k for that snappy comeback BDB, but I have to wait a little longer to be able.
