It's hard for me to think of law stuff since I got back from checking out my deer hunting place...

Are you sure you are not imagining this through your "Vicodin laced fog?"  8)

Fins: How many of those did you "take down"?  TDT was never a hunter but that seems like taking candy from a baby.

Sidenote: Where oh where is my buddy Veek?  I can only presume he is busy booking a flight to Miami for the festivities in 10 days...

Godfather: Please report on the delicacies of the Wild Game Feed following the event.  For some reason this event piqued my interest...

DustySJU: When is the website conference call?  TDT has lots of valuable material...

I suppose I'll shock the board with this revelation, but I have been forced to switch (for the time being) from Hamm's to Miller Lite. Since I was starting to resemble the Hamm's Bear, I have turned to the Atkins method  to shed some winter girth. In order to limit my carb intake to 20 g. per day, I was forced to limit my Hamm's intake to 2 cans. See, Hamm's has 12 grams and ML has 3 grams,...well, you do the math. So far, I've been able to enjoy the cold bevvies whilst still shedding 10 lbs.

Fins welcome to the dark side! Nothing wrong with the Blue Duece!  ;D
I fly any cargo that you can pay to run
The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run

KR- people like you are jurors-why then the big awards? Do people feel sorry for the plaintiff? It is true that a judge could dismiss a case in which he determines no set of facts could give rise to a cause of action, but otherwise, we trust jurors to see the "truth." Remeber that these same jurors could be sitting on a malpractice case-are you worried yet?

We do ,"trust jurors to see the truth," but is doesn't always happen.  Take the jury that acquited O.J., for example.  Some times they do get too swept up in the emotions of the case and can get carried away with the awards.    Juror's verdicts are far from flawless but having said that, it is the best system in the world.

My law school professor defined juries as "twelve individuals distinguished only by the degree of their ignorance."

But, if you prefer KR, we could go back to having the government alone interpret the law, which is what happens in China.  Civil liberties?  Ehh, at the government's convenience in such a system.

However incredible the jury system is, and the occasional absurd result, I'll take it any day over the alternative.

Just waking up is Wonka's specialty. Ask Frank or Mongo...I nearly Majored in 3-Hour Power Naps, being in bed by 7 p.m. and sleeping til noon.
