Great story about Marcus LeVesseur from Rosen's Sports Sunday HERE

Be sure to watch the video.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, that kid has issues. I guess since he graduated high school 6 years ago, I should probably start calling him a man.

To quote Tommy boy:
"You know a lot of people go to college for seven years."
"I know, they're called doctors. "

Although at 23/24, he's almost old enough to be a senior wrestler for Auggie Tech!

It's a sad day at the Finsleft household today. I had to have Roxie, my Springer Spaniol and faithful companion for 11 1/2 years, put to sleep this morning. It's not going to be the same in the fishhouse without her.  :'(

Fins, sorry to hear about Roxie. Putting a dog down is one of the hardest things you can ever have to do in life.
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

And from the only in Minnesota files:

Wrestling suspended after herpes outbreak

Anyone have any more info on this?

Without question.  I have done it twice.  So sorry for your loss, Fins.  My father was raised on a farm and he had a saying, "If you can't put an animal down, you have no business owning one."  The pain will ease.  Focus on the 11 1/2 years of love and companionship.  You will love the next one too.
"Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!"  Dennis Miller

life." Paul Dietzel / LSU

KR - That seems to be the latest and greatest of the news so far. I've been trying to get ahold of my own wrestling coaches for the last 30 minutes to "localize" the story.

Since many of you were speaking of the Fighting Sioux earlier, I'll share a story. When attending my sister's basketball game with me, a college teammate was confused by UND's crowd constant chanting of "Let's go Sioux! Let's go Sioux!" Hoping to clear up the confusion, he studied the roster for roughly 20 minutes before finally asking, "Which one is Sue? Is she hot or something?" Not surprisingly, he was a farm boy who was "too busy burning garbage" to attend a recent GAC game with me.

Speaking of the Sioux, I got a chance to listen to Sweet Music give a speech last night as said sister was awarded Female Athlete of the Year for Rochester last night (Yes, she's twice the athlete I was/am). The local paper mysteriously attributed her collegiate success to the hated Bison. That's like UST getting credit for the Dirty Deuce...

Frankie V shared some funny stories/views, but they'll have to wait for my next work break.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Ok, I'm back and badder than ever...

Last night Frankie V opened the floor for questions when he was done speaking. Someone asked him for a Puckett story, so he told a good one.

Back in the early 80's, when Calvin Griffith still owned the team, the Twins were nearly all white. Until Kirby came along, anyway. That - and the sale of the team - helped open the door to more black players, especially the next spring training.

So, the locker room was nearly perfectly divided: the rooks on one side and the vets on the other. Kirby was naturally among the veterans, while the rookie wall included about 4-6 black players hoping to make the team.

When Sweet Music made his first entrance that spring, his young boy was perched atop his shoulders. They had to walk by the rookie lockers and his kid greeted each one with "Hi Kirby! Hi Kirby! Hi Kirby! Hi Kirby!"

The REAL Kirby fell to the floor in a fit of laughter as Frankie V looked for some place to hide.

Absolutely killed the crowd of 500+ last night.

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

What the heck is going on in MN?  ??? Mouse droppings in school cafeterias?  Wrestling suspended statewide due to herpes outbreak?  Next thing you know Jesse Ventura will be making a political comeback. :o

Big BB game at BET tonight. The Royals have won 7 in a row, the J's 9 of 10. ROR is going to pilot the bandwagon tonight! I hope Fins filled er' up with the high octane stuff he had in er' last Saturday. Would be sweet to see a beat down of the Royals!  ;D

Let's pray Jesse doesn't have any comebacks in him
I fly any cargo that you can pay to run
The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run

And this is why I watch football and hockey! More protective gear! ;) Who would have thought that herpes and ringworm was what it's protecting against! ;D

Speaking of hockey equipment, check out this helmet by Hall of Famer Ace Bailey.

Looks like he is shaking hands with Jack Ruby in Dallas.  :D

Is that a helmet or has he wrapped his hair in a swirl to hide a bald pate?  (Anyone know how to make the pic's bigger?)

Herpes?!  Wow.  I remember having several bouts with ringworm and one with impetigo, but never herpes (from wrestling...anyways ;)).

There has been plenty of known cases of ringworm in football, hockey and basketball. In football and hockey, the coaches generally say "it's nothing, go play." In wrestling the athletes are just in singlets, so the skin is visible and there is more skin on skin contact.

This type of herpes is just like a cold sore. It is nothing like the sexual diease.

I realize that.  I've never had any form of herpes.

And I believe it is "something" like the sexual disease.  Maybe KR can fill us in.

You're telling me.  What really pissed me off was that I could tell the kid I got it from had something, but it didn't bother the ref at all.
