Pep, of course, would like to first become acquainted with some of the Johnnies posters, particularly any of the characters who made it into Murphy's book.

I don't remember if any of us poster made the book.  I was a freshman when Murphy was in Collegeville, so while I have many fond memories of the events transcribed in the book, I didn't make it into the book.

A tradition unrivaled...

You are Number 1 in my book, Duff!! :-* :-*   ;D

Silly Mrs. Flash got on me yesterday that I was drinking too much. She said Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Wednesday was too much, and was taking it's toll on me.

I countered that perhaps I should cut out the 15 hours a week that I work.

She didn't buy that at all. WOMEN!!!
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Johnnie Red

I can only assume that if Austin Murphy would have taken his sabbatical in 2001 or thereafter, numerous posters would have been written about in The Sweet Season. He was present at the Stiftungsfestivities in Salem in 2003 for the Stagg Bowl. One can only assume that if the sabbatical would have been in `03, the title of the book would have been "The Perfect Season." :)

PI extends a thank you to the Godfather for getting the ball rolling on the cookout. PI can't wait for some burgers and beers and whatever delicious food others bring.

The third person thing doesn't do it for me.

AUPepBand

AUPepBand adopted third person from jumping on the Liberty League board...and it brought Pep back to j-school jive, where Pep spent an entire weekend speaking Headlinese! Thus, Pep speaks third person...just for fun.
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

Touchdown Tommy

Johnnie Red: You mean clearly Touchdown Tommy would have been a central character in a later version of the A-man's masterpiece...

BTW: I think you could write a very interesting novel about many of the social dynamics that take place here on Post Patterns.

FLASH: Have u and Jeremy sucked down the rest of that GROOVY beer?

Twins tickets arrived today.  So far booked on the agenda for March is a visit from DustySJU and wife, a visit from Fins and crew, who else is making an appearance???

Chasing MILFs since '82...

Perhaps Austin Murphy is working on a sequel? But then, given that a sabbatical is every seven years, guessing he'd be looking at 2008 to write it.

Pep is surprised there's no book titled "Stiftungsfestivities"...or is it in the works?

I suspect everyone probably caught the story in the Strib about the MIAC leading D-lll in football attendance again last year! Here is the Press Release . The Johnnies lead all of D-lll for the 10th time in 14 years!

Yeah, I did...19 POSTS AGO!  :D

Sorry fins, missed a couple of days and didn't go back to check if it has been posted. :(

TDT -

Will be at a Twins game sometime over the week of March 9 thru March 16.  However, plans are never made until the day of or possibly the day before.  If you witness a familyof 4 decked out in Stout Bluedevil gear, there's a good chance you just met Rico and the Rico-ettes

Like hell, half of the 8 or so pictures are mine and old, but the blurb on the home page says, "(photos contributed to this site from Duffman, Retired Old Rat, Dusty SJU and various other websites)" You guys sure are great photographers and the website hasn't been updated since the last time I bought socks.

So...I was just wondering why some celebrities go by one name, you know, like Cher, Madonna, Finsleft..., while others use 3 names, like Anna Nicole Smith, Ralph Jon Fritz, and Touch Down Tommy?
