If you want to go to a game at the Orange Bowl or the Coliseum you better be packing heat if you wander off a couple blocks.  :P

You mean you don't normally?

Only at those 2 stadiums or if I ever went to Veteran's Stadium in Philly, or whatever it's called now.

But that wouldn't be because of the neighborhood as much as the fans.  ;D

You need to be packin' heat when you travel to Auggie Tech!

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

But ya know, ribbing aside, it raises an intersting question - does anyone have any place that they would, not pay for their kid to attend?  (Or not sign the LOI if they were an athlete?)

That's an easy one...Bethel and Notre Dame.  ;)
Just thought of another one...UW Platteville. From what I can tell, they produce pretty dorky grads.

Just because you guys went private, and overpaid, or paid to get in, does not make an education! God Bless!

Didn't overpay, you get what you paid for. You apparently got in for free. It's a shame the taxpayers of Wisconsin had some of their tax dollars apparently wasted on you.

Oh, almost forgot, God Bless! That makes everything I say ok, right? ::)

BDB: Did you entertain Raiderguy over the weekend??

Careful when you rip Miami fellas.  Remember our esteemed Godfather attended there...

KR: FYI Garza got hurt today.  Threw 2 pitches and left the game with a strained/sore neck.

Bennie: I know you are just rolling home from work, but tune into the hockey game.  Rangers vs. Islanders from The Garden in HD on the Versus network.

Fins: We need to chat about St. Patrick's Day.

So are you saying UW Super fan spent time in the house of doors?

Just curious

I would not pay for my kid to attend Notre Dame or Duke...the wife says she is destined to be at St. Kate's because the wife went there

Speaking of Raiderguy...how are things going for him, have not seen him or heard from him in a while

johnnie_esq

That's funny-- I paid more for my three years of law school at a public institution than I did in four years at a MIAC institution.  Does that mean I overpaid for law school (even though it was cheaper than law at UW-Madison even with reciprocity, and even better ranked)?  Or does the fact that the average starting salaries for MN Private college graduates is higher than that of MN public college graduates change things?  I am totally confused now!!!

Odd that a Platteville guy is trying to rip on MIAC grads...By way of comparison to rankings, US News has Auggie Tech ranked as #23 as a Midwestern University (slightly below Bethel at #14).  The illustrious UW-Plattville rounds out the rankings at #55 in the Midwest.  Of course, as a religious man he knows that those in glass houses shouldn't be throwing stones...

Probably strained it looking at all the Florida eye candy, that or the dude in the Orange Surebet pants in Section 10B

Ha, the game was in St. Petersburg today hence I did NOT make the trip.  I just read that the Twins don't believe it was serious but were just being extra cautious.  They may give him a few extra days of rest.  Trust me MG has the best stuff on this team this side of Johan S.  BTW: Why is LeCroy back?  Seriously I was sitting at the game on Sunday afternoon and my buddy and I were just flabbergasted as to his role or lack thereof.  He is not good.

LeCroy is back due to the newly added IFOCE Spring training challege.

If LeCroy can beat 8 quarter pound sticks of butter in under 5 minutes by the end of Spring Training, the Twins get an extra rule 5 draft pick, 3 more home games and LeCroy gets his bust carved out of Butter and displayed at the Iowa State Fair next year.

TDT, thanks for bringing up the U of Miami. If only I would have stayed the entire academic year and got my LLM in estate planning. :'( Once I found out that I had passed the Minnesota bar exam in October of `78, I decided that I had enough of the academic life and left school to come back to beautiful Carver County to join a small law firm here in Chaska.

My Cobber niece is working on her PhD at Miami and loves it. My Badger son will be visiting her for his spring break in the near future.

Anyone going to be heading to Belle Plaine for St. Patrick's Day? Party town here we come. :D
