Then again, the mild-mannered Wild started a brawl pre-game with them.

Mild mannered... Derek Boogaard? 120 season PIM? ;) ;D

Dirk Bogarde plays hockey? ???  That might mess up his looks

johnnie_esq

What's wrong with Boogard's looks?  In this pic, he even has a Valentine's Day greeting for Bennie!

Our prayers are with FPM and his family.

TDT, just trying to get everything cleaned up at my office and moved to my chambers in Shakopee. The Johnnie shrine is in place at the courthouse. Today I am going to Hastings to meet with the HR director for the judges in the First Judicial District and then to Mendota Heights to meet with the executive director of the Minnesota Board on Judicial Standards to see what activities I can still be involved with. Already had to resign my position on the board of directors of the Minnesota State High School League.  :'( Next week I will be chilling out in Longville, MN on Kego Lake. Heading to Madison this weekend for my Badger son's graduation.

The trip to Talladega did not happen. My brother could not make it down to Alabama for the event, so hopefully it will happen next year. I did watch the Academy of Country Music Awards program last night to get that "down home" feeling. Maybe we should add some country music to the Stiftungsfestivities this fall. Should probably check with Paris to see if she is alright with that. ;)

JR, you are living the good life my man.  :)

I'm still trying to figure out if I am a nerd or not.

After coaching baseball for 2 1/2 hours in driving cold hard rain last night, I watched the entire finals of the National Spelling Bee live on the Duece and liked it.   :-X

These frickin' 10-13 year old kids have coaches now.  :D

Just the finals. It took about an hour and a half. I had my favorites and the kids I wanted to go down in a heap for being too weird.  ;D

If there's not a ball or puck involved in something he couldn't give a rip.

This one girl was shaking so much everytime she had to spell a word I though she was going to piss her pants live on national TV.  :D

If GH stands for P as in Hiccough
If OUGH stands for O as in Dough
If PHTH stands for T as in Phthisis
If EIGH stands for A as in Neighbour
If TTE stands for T as in Gazette
If EAU stands for O as in Plateau

The right way to spell POTATO shoud be GHOUGHPHTHEIGHTTEEAU.

Like eating and poker, spelling is NOT a sport and has no business clogging up valuable space on one of the 300 cable channels.

BDB, unless you had money riding on the outcome, I'm afraid you are. Wiped out all of those coolness points you earned coaching baseball in the rain. ;)

And, speaking of nerds, ;) here's a joke one sent me recently:
Ole is in need of a new milk cow and hears about a nice one for sale over
in Nordakota.

He drives to Nordakota, finds the farm and looks at the cow. He reaches
under to see if she gives milk. When he grabs the teat and pulls, the
cow farts. Ole is very surprised. He looks at the farmer who is selling
the cow, then reaches under the cow to try again. He grabs another teat,
pulls, and the cow farts again.

Milk does come out however, so after some discussion with the cow's
current owner, Ole decides to buy the cow and take it home.

When he gets back to Minnesota , he calls over his neighbor, Sven, and
says, "Hey, Sven, come and look at dis here new cow I yust bought. Pull
her teat, and see vat happens."

Sven reaches under, pulls the teat, and the cow farts. Sven looks at Ole
and says, "You bought dis here cow in Nordakota, didn't yah?"

Ole is very surprised since he hadn't told Sven about his trip. He
replies, "Yah, dats right. But how did you know?"

Sven says, "My wife is from Nordakota.

I know.  :(

Would it help if I mentioned that was also picture night so I had to keep the squad organized in the cold rain to get their individual/team pictures taken?  ;D
