QuoteThe woman's blood-alcohol level was estimated at least 0.30 percent by a doctor who reviewed police reports and witness statements, according to the criminal complaint. Stephen Smith, the doctor, based his estimate on her size and weight and descriptions of the amount of alcohol consumed

Yeah, seems like a really reliable way to estimate it.  ::)

I thought the same thing, but then I read the complaint which was pretty specific on the amount of alcohol consumed in the drinking contest - 8 full shot glasses (1.5 oz) of vodka in a short period of time.  Combined with her height/weight, it seems to me it might give a reasonable basis for a rough estimate.  At least that's what watching CSI leads me to believe. ;D

I wonder if it's too late for SJU to "un-invite" these guys.

Fins, I don't think "Those" guys will be coming to SJU! My hope is Brewster will make an example of these guys and show that this type of conduct won't be tolerated!

tmert, did you bring home a favorite souvenir from Minny?

Perhaps an "I Heart Minnesota" t-shirt or a pair of mocassins?  ::)

Good point Sum. It is unfortunate how the whole program's reputation is sullied by the actions of a few. Especially when the apparent ringleader was already off the team, out of school, but still living on campus. WTF?

Tim Brewster, he was one of KS's quarterbacks in HS, he never met an option run he did not like.  He would pull it down to run even if the halfback was open for the pitch or someone was open down field.  That is why he got moved to halfback and then transferred back to Phillipsburg from Warren Hills and became a tight end.  I wonder if he is still a pompous azz.

Just look to your blue WIAC neighbors to the east for the same story different verse.  :P

KS, I had a chance to meet Brewster a couple of weeks ago at a golf outing. If the guy can coach 1/2 as good as he talks the Gophers should be in good shape! My first impression is he is a helluva a lot less pompous than our last FB coach! ;)

This just in, Matt Garza, Carlos Silva, Johan Santana, Scott Baker, and Boof Bonser threatened to defect to Cuba if the Twins don't get a legitimate DH before the trade deadline.

Seriously, how many games have we lost 1-0, 2-0, or 2-1 on a stellar starting pitching performance this year? Seriously Terry Ryan, your a former pitcher so you should know that pitchers need run support.
Now get off your lazy @$$ and sign Santana or at least Torii and get us a frickin' legitimate DH before Santana leaves based on lack of run support before he even gets a chance to laugh at your low-ball offer that the Yankees will triple.

Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

I am giddy as a schoolgirl.

Back in 1991 when the Twins were going to the World Series, Mrs. BDB and I ran over to Best Buy and bought a piece of furniture with a TV in it. It was a nice gig at the time.

Well, last Friday that bad boy gave up the ghost, so family of BDB ran over to Best Buy and bought a 42" high definition plasma LCD TV.

And from 5-7 tonight the cable guy is coming to install the hi-def cable box.

And at 7pm the Twins are playing the Det Tigs on ESPN in HD!  :)

Dammit, every dog has their day.  ;D

Whoa, KR. +k on your passion and our joint frustration.

This is a BIG stretch of games for the boyz. If they do well I'll bet Ryan does a deal for a bat.

But the current squad is going to have to get it done right now for him to pull the purse string.

I'm figuring the positive karma of my new tube is worth some wins. Got us the 1991 World Series last time out.  :D

Kilted Rat

For the combined salary of Ortiz ($3.1 mil) and Ponson ($1 mil) we could have signed Sammy Sosa ($500k) 8 times over.

Why does Ryan jump all over the aging has-beens who continue to suck a la Sierra, Cirillo, and White and pass on the aging has-beens who still have some pop?

Sosa this year: .243  14 HR's 64 RBI's 39 runs scored.

Ponson: 2-5 6.93 ERA 37.2 IP
Ortiz: 3-4  5.35 ERA

With our young studs and bullpen, how much better would we have been without those 2, starting Garza and Slowey/Baker all year and having a legitimate DH? >:(

When Santana pitches, he should bat, Punto plays 3rd and the DH hits for him. How 'bout that?
