It will be interesting to see if Gags pulls a Brewster or let's Luberts bring his cloud back to the team for a season with high expectations. The common media perception (Vick, Pacman, U of M players) seems to say the "right" step is to distance the team/program from the player and cut ties completely.

Perhaps more importantly, why is a 14-year-old being invited to a college party, which I've got to imagine provided alcohol? 14 is just out of MIDDLE school...

No way the kid touches the field again, Willy. Sure he was expected to be a big part of the offense this year, but players come and they go. He'll just be going sooner than anyone expected. There's lots more (maybe better) talent behind him.
For Luberts, football is the least of his worries right now.

I don't think Kip Winger will be going after any 14 year olds...he's way too big of a rock star.

What kind of defense is there for this case? He admitted he had relations with her and it was well known at the party that she was 14.

My guess is that Luberts' football days are done and he won't have to worry about homework at all from now on. SJU will be fine, we'll go undefeated without him.
It's just a sad situation for him and all involved. What a waste. I enjoyed watching him play. (football)
