Darn, I missed Bonds hit his homerun

It was typical Barry.  He knew it as soon as he hit it.  When he hit 755 he stood at the plate knowing it was going out and with this look on his face like "It's about damn time."  This one he stood at the plate but threw his arms straight up, which I've never seen him do before.

As my son says, displaying his Norcal upbringing, he may be an asshole but he's our asshole.

Tmerton,

Who is in the picture on your posts?

#19 is Jeremy Hood
#1 is Ryan Danielson
No idea who the Bethel guy is.  Mike Johnson, perhaps?

I'm coming from Ohio to the opener vs SJU.  Where are some places to stay and what should I be sure to do to soak up the Johnnie experience?

How much time do you have?

There is of course the list of things that everyone at SJU would say...
Brunch at the refectory
walk to the chapel
football game (duh)
walk by the lake

I say do that and more...
Piano man at sal's
GO VISIT ST. BEN'S
pizza on the sidewalk after the bar closes while listening to salse musin the streets until 2 am

repete -- Hmmm, sounds like the you know the city as well as I do.  There is a great vietnamese place called quangs I love on nicollet (aka eat street) an indian place i just fell in love with called namaste cafe on hennepin, sounds like my vegetarian ways arent quite in line with your culinary favorites.  Loring pasta bar in dinkytown by the U of M is a cant miss though.  If gourmet pizza sounds tasty any of the pizza luce's in town are fantastic.

Repete,

If you like Thai food, True Thai on 26th and Franklin is awesome!  It's across I94 from Auggie Tech.

The drunkard's noodles are fantastic if you like things spicy.

D3 Poster, you would certainly be welcome to join us for the Stiftungsfestivities tailgate party before the game. We are located in the parking lot just above the scoreboard end of the football field. The party starts at 9:00 a.m. and goes till 12:30 p.m. If you need a ticket to get into the game, please let me know.

Nothing like great burger and a Hamm's for a pre-game breakfast. In St. Cloud, don't miss Bravo Burrito. In Mpls., I just ate at Harry's Fine Food & Cocktails on Washington. Very good food, atmosphere and service, but a tad expensive. And an MIACPP favorite is Khan's Mongolian in Roseville or Richfield (near the Mall of the Universe)

tmerts: You guys please keep your asshole. I'm glad that fiasco is over.

Agreed.  There needs to be a double asterisk next to that record.

Not that it's a particularly monumental event, but I'm back on the board; and on the sidelines coaching the BU Cornerbacks - of which I once was - for the upcoming season.

I can't believe how fortunate I am to be coaching with the Bethel staff!

Seniors report today, the rest tomorrow, and we're off-and-running!

Good luck, good health, good fun and good football to all in the MIAC, and take it easy on my CB's, will ya?

tmerts, you are right about one thing, he is an asshole.

Please keep him.

and we are not giving Joe Nathan back!

fins, duff, dbhammel,
a little special K to you for breakfast (and all who think Bonds is an a-hole.) thanks for the tip. Thai is great and there's a good chance I'll be hanging with an Auggie Tech grad (who somehow turned out all right) so drunkard noodles it may be.

In the wake of the Lubbert deal and the bridge I didn't have much to say.

Gotcha.

Meeting of the minds in Eden Prairie tonight.  We'll see what transpires...

Congratulations to Barry Bonds, the best player of all times no question, the best athlete of mankind, a universal monster mash....I met him once and he was very nice and cordial...looking forward to the upcoming season...i think Bethel and St. Johns will do good this  year and maybe the sleeper being Mac?

Anybody want to speculate on what would have happened if Bonds would have admired a home run he hit off Bob Gibson or Don Drysdale??  8)

Hey oldbethel27,

Congrats on the coaching position! You got my dream job ;)

Do you have your Opa stories ready to roll to give the kids a break?

I'll have to make sure to find a way to the games this year. Say hi to the staff for me!

Eggs - where in the world did you get that picture?! One thing I can assure you of, is that I will not incorporate the Try-To-Break-Eachother's-Arm Drill.

Aren't you coaching somewhere?
