We need a pan-right off this photo to check out the current status of the finsleft luxury suite.  8)

That would be good!
I suppose I'll have to get up there with a weed wacker one of these days. :D

Looks like to Gophs are breaking the field in well at SJU.  Interesting that every knee visible in this photo has a knee brace on it :o

A lot of teams make the hogs wear knee braces. It's science.

Hey, that looks good Chris. Thanks!  :)

Now I can clearly see the hill I almost rolled down when I jumped out of my lawn chair.  ;)

A couple 13-14 more Hamm's and I might've ended up in the end zone.  ::)

Ahhh, my own little piece of heaven. :)
Thanks Buckman!

BDB, I've got a new lawnchair for you this year. Comes with a seatbelt and helmet.

Just got back from the SJU luncheon. Sightings of JohnnieRed, Raiderguy, Wooderson, VOJ, the Wickster, many others. More later...

As for the previous questions about who might fill what roles this year, there are 191 players on the squad this year, 67 freshmen plus some really good transfers. Like John says, every year we lose irreplacable players. But each year we find other irreplacable players.

Correction on Blackmore-broken hand from softball. Should play.
New speedster out of Alexandria, turned down track scholarship at U of M to play SJU football. Whooosh!!

Gagliardi on the Gophers:

85 players on scholarship, each gets 4 new pairs of shoes each year. Our guys all have one pair of shoes, and they have to buy their own.

The Gophers came with 4 or 5 semis full of stuff. After the first day, they put in their bid for next year.

Glenn Mason's contract called for $2 million/year. They're still paying him this year and next. Wish St. John's would fire me. So we have that in common, we're both embarassed by our salaries.

When SJU hired me they offered me $4,200 a year. I was making $2,400 at the time, so I signed a lifetime contract. Been trying to get out of it ever since.

Good times  :D

I was looking at the featured story and i will say that ST.OLAFS will in fact make a run for the title....2 reasons.....Rushing attack is preety good....lead by OL Blake Hamel (Lake Mary, Fl Native) and also....Division 1 transfer....Cameron Bateman (Athlete) from Illinois State and also a Lake Mary, Fl Native!!! Coming from someone who does not follow this conference but KNOWS these athletes very well....I will garrauntee that these guys will have impacts on the season for st. olafs!!! Good luck to all and in Camp.....

Let the best team WIN!!!!

I don't know what's different here. I thought all Oles were native Florwegians.  :D

Lake Mary Rams Football

2004  4-6  1-3 in Conference
2005  3-6  1-3 in Conference
2006  0-2, then they stopped reporting results.

I have a feeling these guys'll fit in just fine at St. Olaf.

You have another product of Lake Mary, FL right here and trust me we aren't very good at football.  Soccer and golf are another story but football is bad.

Even with Keith Rivers the team had trouble winning games.

Back from K.C.....1 of 3 is not too good. Glad I got out of there before we made another young pitcher look CY Young material.

I was up at SJU Monday for the first practice and got some good pics of John with the Gophs. John doesn't talk that loud, so heard every other word, but the players enjoyed listening to him speak.

I'll post some pics when I get into the office tomorrow.

Good call TC. Since KiltedRat is otherwise occupied these days, I'll just say what he would probably be saying right now:

"Being a star football player from Lake Mary, FL is like being the prettiest girl at the trailer park."  :D

Hmm, in Sid's column..

This is Gagliardi's 59th year coaching. He will be 81 in November, but he said he doesn't have any thought of retiring. However, some close friends believe this might be his last season because he lost two sisters in the past year and because the game is changing so much.
