So your Silliness, is pain your soul leaving your body?

Everyday is payday in paradise.

Johnnie Red

2007 - Will the Johnnies Be Back in Heaven?

Starting `07 with a team from Ohio, hoping for another at the season's ending;
in between will be the Cobbers, Oles, Tommies and Royals, among others, all pretending.

From 2000, six post season appearances, pre-season rankings suggest #7 in `07,
to make the post season reality and no suggestion, it is up to the Johnnie eleven.

Defense and offense, coaching and drills as in "nice day" cal, all add in,
to the Johnnie tradition of dominance in the MIAC and so many playoff wins.

Then again, there is that team known as the WarHawks, a recent Johnnie nemesis,
closer last year than the one before, this year will be the one for the SJU genesis.

A new beginning, starting with Marietta in Collegeville and ending with MUC in Salem,
traveling through towns like Northfield, Arden Hills and Whitewater, all will hail `em!

Hail to the Johnnies, fight you Johnnies, fight you Johnnies!
Show D3 football what SJU can do, stand and fight like men for old St. John's.

The tradition of Gagliardi, red is legend at Clemens in the fall.
Heaven is being at St. John's, especially in `07 when they win it all.

Reading tmerton's story of the "demise" of BDB reminds me of the story about the widow who took her deceased spouse to the funeral home in his only suit, a black one. She told the funeral director that it was the dying wish of her beloved departed husband that he be buried in a blue suit. The funeral director told her that he could accomodate her request, but it would be an additional charge. She replied that was only to be expected, and agreed. The next day she came back and the funeral director displayed her husband's body, bedecked in a lovely navy blue suit. She said that she was satisfied and inquired about the extra charge, to which he replied that there would be no additional fee. She protested saying that she understood that the suit must have cost him quite a bit since it seemed of high quality. The director said that, as luck would have it, another man, very close to her husband in size had been brought to the funeral home shortly after she had left the day before. This gentleman was wearing a very nice blue suit. He told her that he had asked this man's widow if it mattered if he wore a black suit or a blue suit, to which she replied that it made no difference to her to .........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................."So I just switched the heads."

Geez -- the annoying guy at work just popped his head into my office to tell me that gem on Friday. :)

Mrs. BDB answered. "Well, the funeral was $6,500, and I donated $500 to the church. Then the wake, food and drinks were only $500 with the Bob and Steve's discount.   The rest went for the memorial stone."

"$22,500 for a memorial stone?" Rose gasped.  "How big is it?"

"Two and a half carats," responded Mrs. BDB.

Too late tmerton.

I gave her one that big on our 25th wedding anniversary, which was spent dining at the youth hockey awards banquet.  :D

BDB

Watching the news of the flooding in SE Minnesota was a learning experience for kids of BDB.

"See guys, we are not the only ones. We are luckier than a lot of those folks."

Our thoughts and prayers are with them.

On a positive note, way to go Coon Rapids in the Little League World Series!

They got a win last night with a walk off homer.   8)

Felt like I won the lottery last night. On a whim, GF and I sauntered into Beadreau's Bar on SC's greater east side and discover $1 tap beer. Not just a nightly special, mind you, but to celebrate their 100th year in business, tap beer is going for 100 cents all year long. Interesting crowd, too.
Feeling oh so generous, I bought a round. Woke up this morning and 1st 2nd thing I thought of was I forgot to pay my tab. Stopped in this morning to make things right, and my tab was mysteriously gone. 8)

Ok, fine, I'll be the one to ask...what was the 1st thing you thought of?

Secondly, Tommie cubicle mate of mine might be joing MIAC PP soon, should be fun :)

I guess I just assumed it was "Damn, my head hurts!" or "I really have to pee!"

A tradition unrivaled...

Good enough.  I guess I was hoping for some gf related dirtiness to spice up my monday morning.  Ill end this thread as to stop boring people now.

My greatest bar find currently is Burrito Loco down here in dinkytown.  The tueday during the week of your birthday you bring 4 friends and you drink for free all night long, everything and anything.  It was fun to accidentally spill my Crown Royal and call over to the waitress for another one.  Ordering drinks was great..."give me something from the top shelf and mix it with something tasty"

Cant beat that.

I'll just leave that 1st thing up to your imagination.

db- You should've learned this in college, but "something from the top shelf" should not be mixed with "something tasty". Even if it's free.

What a romantic.  Hope you got the Bob and Steve's discount. ::) ::)

I'm sure she'd like one for the other hand, to even out the weight.
