Happy birthday, Willy.

Nice preview Duff.

The home opener is now only days away. Sounds like the inaugural stiftungsfestivities will be bigger and better. JR, please let us know if there are any specific things any of us can bring. I'll be toting a koolaid jug for sure. I'm open to any suggestions for what to put in it. So far, it could be Strip and Go Nekked, since the recipe has been posted here. Or, since we're playing the Pioneers, we could go with that theme, and just have rye whiskey. :o
Suggestions?

SATURDAY FORECAST
Sunny  8)
High 80°F
Low 58°F

I'll take a pass on the rye whiskey :P (but if we ever play the Scots, well, that would be different).  We'll be making a stop at Westside on the way from the airport to pick up some Smithwicks and/or left coast stuff.  If anyone has any special requests, let me know.

Apologies for having little knowledge on the subject...just checked out Fat Tire beer online, is Fat Tire the brand or New Belgium the brand and Fat Tire Amber Ale the type/flavor?  Going out to old chicago for happy hour on thursday and was pleasantly surprised to see they had "New Belgium Fat Tire Amber Ale" on their extensive beer list.

Mmmm.  Cheap.  Beer.

New Belgium is the brewery.
Fat Tire is the name of the beer.
In MN, they are also selling 1554 and Mothership Wit.  The 1554 is a black ale and might be better than the Fat Tire.  The Mothership Wit is like a Blue Moon Light.

Thanks Duff, I'll keep my eye out.  Black Ale sounds delicious, I tend to favor the darker brew myself.  Especially when the midi has $5 pitchers of big butt.

May I be the first to predict a monkey stomp for SJU on Saturday?

DuffMan

I won't predict it, but it really wouldn't surprise me.

I'll have the radio tuned in :'(

Duff,
Do they sell 'Abbey' in MN yet?

If you want to bring along a selection like this, that would be really cool.  8)

I'll be happy to get a trailer and stop by your house to pick it all up.  Hope your boys can help with the loading - I'm sure they've helped load dad a few times. ;D

Helped load dad or helped dad when he was loaded?

Mongo - I'll be there on the 8th, with said Sister. I may get there extra early to do the 5k Fun Run (oxymoron, if I've ever heard one) and then probably trying to find a freshman to shack up with after failing in my attempt last year.

Vikes opener at Pattys, Ruttles or Trains after my walk of shame on Sunday perhaps?

Happy bday to Wonka (in 40 minutes)!

Wonka: Yeah, i'll need two things on the following Sunday: 1) a bloody mary for my aching head thanks to the night before, and 2) a good laugh, which will come in the form of the Vikings offense.
We'll coordinate activities a few days before.

Duffman:  Does Fat Tire come in 12 oz bottles?--I've only seen it in the larger bottles, not that I'm complaining.
I'd post a lot more if I had a real job

I talked to a woman at New Belgium just before they started marketing in MN.  Apparently, the plan is eventually to see 12 oz bottles, but right now the 22 ouncers is all they're selling.  Who can blame them when they are getting $4 a bottle for it.
