I just got the official word that all clearances for Satruday have been obtained and I am a go for the game.  I repeat, we are a go!

I will more than likely have my 6 year old daughter in tow.  She has only been to 1 Johnnie game before and that was in September of 2001 against UST when she was all of 6 weeks old.  I think she'll enjoy this game more than she did that one.

This might be a stretch, but does anyone know if FSN has an online stream of their telecasts?  I won't be able to watch the Sartell-Tech game tonight, but would be able to follow online if possible.

To the best of my knowledge, they do not have online streaming.

Does she like Jello?

It should be interesting trying to tell a 6 year old that she can't have any of the jello or kool-aid.

By the way, BDB, by announcing my appearance I take it that you have read and approved the conditions outlined in my rider? ;)

You mean the part about the hookers?  ;D
Well,...yeah, but also the Jack Daniels and the hookah.

SJU game release is up.

Interesting  bit from the notes....

Game to be Aired Next Weekend: This Saturday's game between Saint John's and Wis.-River Falls will be aired on FSN North on Sunday, Sept. 16 at 1 p.m. CDT, and on FSN Wisconsin on Thursday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. CDT. As with all televised programs, times and dates are subject to change.

I feel good that so far I'm the only one to pick Northwestern right now in the pickems.  Honestly, which USC Trojans decided to transfer and play for Augie Tech?  With a 9 and a half point spread, you might assume a few more people would come to their senses and never pick Augsburg to win a game this year, unless they're predicted to be 30 point underdogs to Hamline.

On another note, it would be a lot more fun to root against the Johnnies, if Gags behaved like this when they lost.  I can just imagine Gags coming up to Kofoed after a loss to Bethel, proceed to shove him in the chest, and start screaming obscenities to his coaches to get him back to Collegeville.  ........Everything you've heard about Mn State Moorhead is true  ;D

Just added the sports pack on DirecTV -- thanks for the heads-up.

Thanks for the link, AO. Wow, what a tool. I hadn't heard all the details of that game. My favorite quote:

"And if Terry Horan doesn't send Tomeo a nice bottle of wine every Sept. 1 for the rest of eternity, the Cobber coach should be ashamed. "

And I'm sure some will think that this is the best news to come out of SJU since they hired John Gagliardi:

Sept. 6, 2007

Dear Members of the CSB/SJU Community:

I am writing today to inform you that, effective July 1, 2008, Gar Kellom will be leaving his current position as vice president for Student Development to assume the position of executive director of the Center for Men's Leadership and Service at Saint John's University.

Since coming here as vice president for Student Development in 1992, Gar has devoted his energy and enthusiasm to championing Saint John's mission, engaging colleagues in one initiative after another to strengthen student learning. He has a deep and abiding respect for students and has been a fierce advocate on their behalf. I am grateful for Gar's open-hearted and generous service. He is a national leader in men's education and enlists a distinguished group of scholars and practitioners in the programs of the Center for Men's Leadership and Service, which he has led since its founding.

We will be spending time this academic year thinking about and discussing the leadership needs within Saint John's Student Development which Gar has ably led for the last 15 years. I am delighted to anticipate Gar's full-time involvement in leading the Men's Center after he completes his service as vice president. Saint John's is a better place for Gar's creative and principled leadership.

Br. Dietrich Reinhart, OSB
President
Saint John's University

Not sure, but you might be confusing Gar with Jason Laker.  I think Gar will do a fantastic job with the Men's Center.

Good joke in the Wickster's Underground News:

Over in New Munich Walter was walking home from the corner bar late at night, through the park, and sees a woman in the shadows.  "Twenty dollars" she whispers.

He'd never been with a hooker before, but decides, what the hell, it's only twenty bucks.

So they hide in the bushes. They're going "at it" for a minute when all of a sudden a light flashes on them -- It's a police officer.

"What's going on here?" asks the officer.

"I'm making luff to my vife," Walter answers indignantly.

"Oh, I'm sorry." says the cop. "I didn't know."

"Vell," says Walter, "I din't neder, 'til you shine dat damn light in her face."

Lots of other good stuff in there, some even SJU football related. If you don't subscribe and would like a look, lmk and I'll forward you a copy.
