Also, is it 3/2 beer at the gas stations in WI?  Or can I buy the strong stuff COLD at your store?

TDT, if you mention 3.2 beer to somebody from Wisconsin their face gets all contorted and they have no idea what you are talking about.

It's all strong and we got it cold.  ;)

AAHHH.  That takes me back to my youth.  Thank God for 3.2 beer and 3.2 Bars so I had places to hang out at from 18-21!  :D

The law in Oklahoma when I was growing up was thus: drinking age was 21, except that women could buy 3.2 beer at age 18 but men could not buy it until they were 21!  The one part of all this I agreed with was the 3.2 was not considered an alcoholic beverage ;) (otherwise no one would have been able to buy it until they were 21).

And guess what - someone made a Supreme Court case out of it!  Craig v. Boren, 429 U.S. 190 (1976).  The personal interest part for me is that I was clerking for one of the three federal judges who upheld this crazy statute before the Supreme Court overturned it - and I told the judge at the time he was going to be reversed - and he was, 7-2!

The Supreme Court Historical Society has a good story about it

BTW, some college kid actually sued to overturn the law - probably some loser who couldn't get a girl to buy beer for him and thought if he won the result would be for the age to be dropped to 18 for everyone (wrong-o).  Hell, nobody needed to be 21 to buy beer in Oklahoma back then anyway.

I remember getting people to buy Bud ICE from Gas Stations because Bud ICE "paid a fine" to keep their alcohol content at 5.5 ;D.  Never did find out if that were true or not ???.
I like to picture my Jesus singing lead vocals for Lynard Skynard with like a band of Angels behind him, and I'm in the front row HAMMERED drunk!!!

For those of you listening tomorrow, here's where the show will come from.

Move the beer, throw in a table.  ;D
Why not use the beer as a table?  Much more efficient when liquid refreshment is needed.

I'm starting to see the advantage of videotape in this instance.  But shouldn't BDB pay for the "free" marketing if it's posted on johnniefootball.com? ;)

Funny you should bring up the subject. Soon, there may be opportunities for businesses to tap into that JohnnieFootball.com demographic.

I'm watching the Navy/Rutgers game and Craig James, Sean McDonough and Spielman are announcing. They're having a discussion on the merits of rating App State or other D-IAA (or the artist formerly known as D-IAA) in the National Polls. McDonough is very much against it wondering if it would then be right to rate D-IA teams in the D-IAA poll. Craig James is for it in theory, and Spielman chimes in, "I'd rate Mount Union in D-IAA." I guess he didn't have enough time to include the Johnnies, or UWW for that matter.

I do think there was a couple of times where Mt. Union and / or St. John's was ahead of the worst I-A team in the Massey ratings.

Frankly, I think St. John's or any of the elite teams in Div. III could hang with a lower echelon I-A team if they executed well. Size and speed may be an issue, but good execution can overcome that. It's nice to think about, but really D-III is perfect in my eyes because we decided it on the field and show that you can play sports at a high level and be actual STUDENTS at the same time.

Anyone attending the Gusties game tomorrow - if I get out of my meeting in time I will have on a red Wabash shirt and my Wabash hat. It has a "W" on it but it's not for Willamette! Trust me!

PS - After last Saturday, I think the Gusties would be best served to lose the Michigan look, you know!  ;D
Wabash Always Fights!

Have fun in Wisconsin everyone, and safe travels for those lucky enough to attend the festivities.
