Touchdown Tommy

Sounds like neither team has a very good Defense at this point in the season...

Good win for Bethel.  Concordia has to be deflated.  Next week should be very interesting.
Chasing MILFs since '82...

I don't think concordia has the running game they've had in the past.....their big back got dinged up near the end of the game....if the johnnies get up early and make the cobs go to the air it could be a long day for the cob qb's....

Stats at BU/CC were close BU rushes 64-252 yds, cc 52-112    passing game BU 261  to cc's 271.  Time of posession 31 minutes Bu 28 for CC.  Bu gives up the ball 3 times on the ground and throws away 2 others.    Flannery is a nice find for Bethel, 24 carries 93 yds and 3 tds.  Both teams fought for the win, but overall BU was sloppy today, but we get the W.  This effort would not beat either SJU or Olaf..  Neither team has a kicker, now theres a blinding flash of the obvious....

Perhaps he'll wait to see who the new coach is ... so much for media darling Charlie Weiss

Well, sounded like a great game in Moorhead.

It was beautiful in Collegeville today, but the game was a snoozer.  Three plays into it, I knew it would be a blowout.  Kofoed was throwing amazing passes and the run game was looking great.  Not to forget the defense looked tough minus the one mistackle that cost the Double Stomp Out.

Stiftungsfestivities were great.  Nice to meet you, LAB and Mrs. LAB!

Agreed, after the rout was on, I went out for the usual saturday afternon (no moose this weekend).  Sill quite curious though on how the game was visualized on the planet Zoltar, or in the alternate universe Narnia.  Any help there?

Just got home from the UWW game and I'd say that they put up a good fight but too many turnovers and dropped passes doomed them. 26-16 SCSU.  Beaver looked brilliant at times, that cutback play they used about 4 times for an average of 20 yds was pretty, otherwise they were searching for ways to get him the ball because the D-line of SCSU would swallow up most runs up the middle.   The D was spectacular, just had to spend too much time on the field when the offense stalled or turned the ball over.  They had plenty of pressure on the QB in the first half and when they blitzed it was very good at disrupting the offense.  Judging from the way they played today, they will be a good match against the Johnnies if/when they meet in the playoffs.

On another note, the game in Collegeville was great for the first 5 min or so, but the domination was so complete that it got boring fast.  Augsburg got that one fluky TD but otherwise showed nothing but next weeks game should be entertaining with CC coming off that overtime loss.

And another thing.... Did anyone else that saw the game think those two roughing the passer penalties on SJU were a little dubious?  I realize that the QB got planted on both but it wasn't like he had gotten rid of the ball 3 sec before getting hit, more like .5-1 sec maybe.  Unless there are new rules about roughing the passer that I haven't heard about.

There was some speculation a few days back about Gliadon possibly getting enough FGs to hold the SJU record for a season. If the Johnnies keep having games like today, would it be wise of them to try a few, even if up by 21+, and risk being blasted for running up the score, to get him game tough? John normally goes for it on 4th inside the 20 - 25. Should he consider using Gliadon so that if he does need him in close games, he would have that experience? Any thoughts?

farley101, I had a couple questions for you in reply to your SCSU/WW game thoughts over on the WIAC message board.  If you get a chance, maybe you can check them out and respond...thanks.
