Does anyone know why the lame UST athletic department doesn't have any stats on their webpage?  Maybe it's because their stats suck!

Just a wild guess here but if you click on the word "stats" on the toolbar across the top of the page, it MIGHT bring up what you seek (as bad as the stats are, they are there)

Sounds like someone is ornery for 1 of 2 reasons, the beatdown at the hands of the Gusties leading to an 0-3 start AND/OR that ridiculously long boring drive home from Cobberland...

Sorry, the long drive got to me....wasnt intending to sound ornery, sarcasm didnt come thru, I guess.  Apologies, Faunch

(and no, the GAC/UST game had no influence on me...you know where I stand on that topic, TDT)

My bad...I googled University of St. Thomas Football and got the link to the old website...

I now have found the Tommie Sports website..

Just to add my own experience in support of LAB, I played against bethel 5 times (4 varsity and my one and only JV game my freshmen year) and in all 5 of those games more than one person gave the little guys an unwanted squeeze and proceeded to get up, offer me a hand, and tell me God loves me.  I certainly don't think their coaches support this, but it did seem like it could have been something that the players supported in the locker room.  That is an experience that many of my teammates also had. Just my own two cents worth of experience.

Did these players actually say "God loves you?"

AO

LAB- It wasn't my intention to disprove your experience with cheap shots delivered by Bethel players.  I thought that since these guys had taken the time to tell you that Jesus loved you or whatever, that you might have been able to see their numbers clearly by that time.  I didn't play football in college, but I did play Basketball and if someone is trying to play cheaply, I'm going to know who it is.  Granted it's a little easier to figure out who the cheap shot artist is in Basketball.  My point is that I didn't blame the entire Hamline basketball program for Kyle Foster.  (just an example, and not necessarily a dirty player)   I know a number of great men and women from Bethel and do not think they deserve to have their entire team and school to be classified in that way.  - I know you've already said Bethel is not a bad school, just trying to explain myself further.

At the SJU / Linfield playoff game in 2003 I witnessed two BU coaches (one of which is the head coach) playing slap happy w/ each other....if you know what I mean.  I admit that I used to do this with my friends....it should be noted  I was about 12 or 13 at the time.

Maroon&Gold

Don't we have this same basic discussion every year on this board?

It is not coincidence that members of almost every MIAC football team will tell you that the dirtiest / cheapest team that they played against was Bethel.

The White Silly

Tough game on saturday for the auggies...real tough...real tough...we'll be back though...we'll be back...on another note, i personally LOVED the trick play call right before the half by the johnnies...trick plays=joy for me....any trick play at any time is golden in my opinion...i would cherish a double reverse flea flicker from a team that is up 100-0 in the 4th quarter when they could/should be taking a knee...great day although we got our nuts kicked...I used to grab peoples genitals sometimes at the bottoms of piles too, but it was always just as a funny joke though...i made a funny....trick daddy...the Augsburg Arenas will rebound next week i will guarentee it...i like speaking in declarations....Tim Brewster is not a good coach

Nah,
I'm drinking Corona's with my bud's out on Coronado Island. Bars are gonna be packed, and they've bumped up prices for the game. That + a Padres game = busy as hell in down town SD.
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Yup with big sh*t eating grins

On another note T-Jack had a nice freshmen-junior year Stolp impersonation today.  I hope Jackson will develop a little faster tho.
I like to picture my Jesus singing lead vocals for Lynard Skynard with like a band of Angels behind him, and I'm in the front row HAMMERED drunk!!!

Flannery is a sweet, sweet back--- nice moves, excellent speed & agility.  He will be a fun one to watch for 4 yrs, unless you're an opposing coach.

Would this be scrubby41 grandson from Lakeville?

Yep, Johnson likes to get a back & start him as a freshman & ride that same horse for 4 years. The formula has seemed to work just fine with Mike Johnson & Porta during the past 10 years.

TC-

I'll go with you on the hook-n-ladder.  Good point on the sideline coverage.  I can accept that.

I don't want to come across as a total Marcus appologist.  He is and was an adult at the time, and made some bad choices.  I don't excuse the choices he made.  I'm just glad to hear and see that he has taken the time now to start making good choices in his life, and it is definitely paying off for him.  I like the WWE bit.  With all of the fake blood pouring down on the WWE mat, a "movie-glass" beer bottle to the head would make great TV.  I dont mean to belittle Marcus for this, and in case he happens to read this, don't want him to think that at all.  It's something from his past that he has learned from, and hopefully can accept a little ribbing on!

By the way, the announcer at last nights fight was Dan "The Commonman" Cole.  I spoke with him for a bit after the fights and thought we'd compare wives from Idaho (where mine is from).  I brought it up with him because he refers to her as "potato" on the air.  Unfortunately I learned she is NOT in fact from Idaho, but instead, from Stearns County!  You guys are freakin' everywhere!

AO-
I get what you're saying and good point.  Thank you for explaining!

I'm still trying to figure out who the white silly is!  I really have no clue!

LAB
Out of order, I'll show you out of order! You don't know what out of order is, Mr Task! I'd show you but I'm too old, I'm too tired, and I'm too f----n blind. If I were the man I was 5 years ago, I'd take a FLAMETHROWER to this place. Out of order, who the hell do you think you're talking to?

Retired Old Rat

Marcus always came off as a good guy to me.  I am a firm believer that if you are going to make mistakes in life; make then while you are young.  The penalty is generally much less harsh and if you have any brains you can learn from it.

The Mike Max interview several a months ago was well done and revealing.

Good luck to Marcus.
