By the way, I've seen the future of www.johnniefootball.com.  It's pretty damn special.  You'll all enjoy it.

I remember one time, just before gametime with the lights off for the national athem or player annoucements, one of the rats turned the hand crank (near the top of the stands) a couple of times to raise the opponents bucket a few inches.   The interesting part was trying to lower it during halftime with the lights on.  They were looking for the tallest students to stand in front of the crank to hide the guy who was lowering the bucket.
circa 1969...

That might be the single dirtiest act of fan interference in the MIAC ever attempted.  Gotta love the spirit though.

As long as were on the subject of old memories. It was a SJU-UST basketball game in the old Warner Palestra, circa '89. The Rat pack and most of the fb team were sitting on the end bleachers. The "tom cat" was gettin' into it with pack and some players, just picked him up and passed him up the bleachers and over the back he went. Luckily for him they had wrestling mats on the  floor behind the bleachers because he fell a good 15'.  ;D Didn't see much of him for the rest of the game. ::)

Anybody have the words to that UM-YA-YA song . I looked in the Lutheran Hymnal but to no avail..  I just cant wait to hear it...

I believe it goes:

We come from St. Olaf, we sure are the real stuff.
Our team is the cream of the colleges great.
We fight fast and furious, our team is injurious.
Tonight Carleton College will sure meet its fate.
Um Ya Ya! Um Ya Ya!
Um Ya Ya! Um Ya Ya!
Um Ya Ya! Um Ya Ya! Um Ya Ya YA!
Um Ya Ya! Um Ya Ya!
Um Ya Ya! Um Ya Ya!
Um Ya Ya! Um Ya Ya! Um Ya Ya YA!

That is the official version.  There is another version that many of the students know.  It is only sung on a few special occasions when the administration is not present.

With the emergence of St. Olaf as a solid team and no clear dominating force I look for Concordia, St. John's, St. Olaf and Bethel to battle it out. The others have shown no life and only marginal ability to knock off a good team.

Hey Gary, remember when Gustavus beat Concordia last year, Concordia finished below .500 overall/conference league, GAC finished better than you overall/conference and you're about to start 0-2 in the league? Besides those very minor issues, I guess you make a great point.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

So, even if you are calling out a Cobber, you read it on www.JohnnieFootball.com voted "the best MIAC fan site"- Thanks for bringing the attention Wonka, keep spreading the good word of www.JohnnieFootball.com  ;) BTW- did you see TDT Top 10 list? He admits he's never stepped foot into Mick's earlier in the week, yet ranks it #2. I agree, Mick's is great & I have been there!

My thoughts exactly.  If he had been there, he'd surely have mentioned the $3 pitchers on Saturday.
