1997, though  I went my first two years to a community college, then transferred to SJU. So I missed the record-breaking 93 and 94 scoring seasons (had a friend on the Hamline team that beat the Johnnies in 94), but was there for 95 and 96. Great teams then, Chris Palmer winning the Gagliardi in 1995 (although they missed the playoffs after losing to the Oles and tying the Cobbers), and then unbeaten in 1996 until they blew like a 20-point halftime lead at LaCrosse with Ramler as QB.

Stanbob: I believe "Johnnie" is listening in from West Virginia...

right you are, Touchdown Tommy.....

listening in Charleston, WV

(have been watching WVU torch East Carolina while listening to SJU)....

Johnnie

ouch 45-14....now...

retagent

WVU is an amazing team to watch this year. Electric even. Sorta' like the Johnnies.

Who is this Vanderheyden? Was he expected to be this good, or did he come out of nowhere?

Me too, I love Erin Andrews.  She is a doll!

Bennie: He is a dink.  Does anyone really give 2 sh!ts and F#*$ about Gustavus crushing a not very good Hamline team??

Chris,

Can we score 70 today?

We better put in the second team-so no-but what a great win-SJU needs to keep focus next week and thereafter.
I am leaving to go to my son's game-everyone hold down the fort.

Just took a quick look at the Johnnies record book. Looks like the team record for points against Concordia was 49 in 1976. That 1993 team even only scored 444. There's only been one other 40-point game by the Johnnies in the entire series. 52 in the third? Wow.

Hey bennie. I've gotten to see parts of a couple pre-season games already. The Wild against the Wings; Wild won 3 - 2, but they were playing more of their better players while the Wings were looking at more of their younger guys. Then I saw a period (before they blacked it out. Damn that DirecTV) of the Devils against the Rangers. I try to keep up with player moement somewhat, but I didn't remember that Drury and Gomez are now with the Rangers (neither played) and Zubrus went to the Devils.

Oops! Just lost the feed.

2nd string O in the game now.  SJU is just playing a damn near flawless game.  One special teams TD and otherwise the Def and the ST are dominating this game.  Concordia has turned the ball over countless times.

I have decided to get the Center Ice package this year. The east coast games will be over by the time I get home at night, but there should be plenty of West Coast games to keep me happy. The closest I have gotten to watching hockey was a replay of a 2006 Boston/Tampa Bay game.

Planned on going out for a quick halftime libation, was persuaded into a second and then i thought the game is a stomp anyway and had a third.  What all did I miss in the interim?
