A couple pages back Ritz was talking about blocking in 93 for the offensive juggernaut.....must have been for the 2s and 3s.  The starting o-line in 93 was Stanley, Hermann, Windfeldt, Chamberlan and Dojan.  They didn't play much after halftime during the year.  The 2s played a bunch with Pletcher, Kemper and Ramler at the helm.

Total points scored against Coe in 1991--- 75.

I didnt say I started, just played on a LOT of the scoring drives, and filled in a considerable amount when Stanley missed series, etc. with his back....  Not tooting my own hour Tooth...I think its time to loosen the sleeves on your arms and the neck roll   ;D

I Think you also lost a lot of blood flow to your brain long snapping so much!!!

A little slow today, I had been under the impression that the game of the century, aka GAC/STO was this weekend.  I hope I wasn't mistaken.

Stan- I pretty much always support sarcasm, but only if it's funny or true ;).  Pretty sure no one is making this into an epic battle of the century.  Just a match up of two unbeatens who happen to be rivals, thus making it the biggest game of the year thus far for the two squads.  And after it has been played, the next week will turn into the biggest game of the year for both teams.  That's how it goes.

p.s. Sorry if the discussion interrupted any continued stroking of how pure and wonderful Johnnie football is, and that it's quite possible John Gagliardi ranks directly behind Jesus, Ghandi, and Scott Baio ;D
I like to picture my Jesus singing lead vocals for Lynard Skynard with like a band of Angels behind him, and I'm in the front row HAMMERED drunk!!!

OK, maybe behind Jesus by a slim margin, but definitely not Ghandi or Baio.

You know I am starting to get a little offended by the attitude that Johnnie fans have their red blinders on so tight that they can't see that there are other teams in the league. ::) Granted, my location limits the number of MIAC games, and Johnnie games for that matter, I get to attend, but I have supported every MIAC football team to make their way over the Rockies in the past 10 years! I cheered loudly enough at the Mac/Lewis and Clark game to have people ask me if I was a Mac grad. I throughly enjoyed sitting with and cheering for the Cobbers in there hard fought game against Linfield. And last year, I had nothing but nice things to say about the Gusties after watching them play Willamette (just ask Frank). I was even bracing myself to cheer for Bethel a couple of years ago when there was a chance they could be playing Linfield in the second round of the playoffs! :D I think we are all bias about our team...and we should be. The fact that there are as many Johnnie fans on this board as there are certainly influences the discussions, but if you want that to change, get more alumni from your institutions to join in and stop complaining about our team spirit/enthusiasm! ;D

Anyone know anything about Augsburg?? (I realize I am walking into a trap of "Arena League Offense")

But seriously, are the Auggies better this year?

I am going to go out on a limb and say GAC gets by STO this week, if only for the reason that I respect the hell out of Shoenbeck(sp?)  and feel the absolute opposite way about Mister Meidt.

Speaking of Crown College when is SJU going to get them on the schedule again?  In time for another safety win at the end of a potentially record setting season?  ;)

Not all that much of a sarcastic stretch, a few pages back someone, I believe it was Wonka, was touting this as the D3 game of the week.

Bennie, I am still grateful for the in-game updates of the Gusties game last season.

This site does often trend towards Johnnie football, but that's what happens when you're the best team and have the most supporters on a message board.  It's science.

For it only being week 2 of the MIAC season, I would have to say that Gusties-Oles is the first of many games of the season.  I hope the Gusties are up to it as after this they are at Bethel and home for the Johnnies...a season defining run if there ever was one.

First of all although the smack talk runs pretty deep on here sometimes, I personally think that everyone on here supports the MIAC and all the teams (except for me and Bethel, I just trully despise those who hide behind the bible but we've had that discussion) when it really comes down to it.  And I don't think Johnnie fans have "red blinders" on I just think that SJU's success over the years has gone to the heads of their fans who now think that they and their team are above everyone else.  And that elitist attitude is what I take exception too because at the end of the day it is still Division 3 football that has no long lasting effect on anything other than the friendships that were built as a result of it, and those friendships are no better or worse depending on how good your team was in college. :o

Now stepping off of my soap box.

Hang on there. It wasn't a Johnnie that tried comparing John to a Deity, pacifist or actor. The Johnnie faithful are justly proud of the fact that when you compare college football coaches, John is behind NO OTHER person in terms of victories. That doesn't guarantee a win on Saturday. I'm certainly glad that FAILURE hasn't gone to our heads.
