BDB,
Here's one for you. If I wouldn't be heading in the other direction, I'd catch it. Booya & Hamm's - what a combo.   I think 'connect with nature' means outdoor plumbing.
For the Herald - The Friends of Beaver Creek Reserve are excited to host the first-ever booya and fall festival. The new fundraising event is noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7 on the Youth Camp side of the reserve.

Connect with nature while enjoying a huge bowl of homemade booya complete with crackers and beverages. This stew-like soup takes three days to prepare and is cooked over an open fire in a large cauldron. Hotdogs and brats will also be available at the one-day event.
:P

57 - Sounds like a good place to set up a Tums and Toilet Paper Concession Stand.  :D
It ain't good Booya unless it talks to you in both directions.

Great post ritz. Homecoming at a Middle School?  ???

That's a lot of golf man. Better bring a ton of balls as they tend to hide under the leaves.

I should be up in LF in the next month. I'll buy the first Hamm's for you and Veek if you'll join me.  8)

Bethel had an impact transfer in my day - Deon Jordan.  He was arguably the difference when BC beat SJU in 2000 at Arden Hills.  He was a really tough little possession receiver who found lots of soft spots in the SJU secondary.  We found out only days later that someone - who shall remain nameless, but beat BC in 2003 for his 409th win - was raising questions about Deon's eligibility.  It could have been a major blow to the BC program, but thankfully he was cleared by his previous institution and everything worked out - except that we lost to PLU in the playoffs. . .

Okay, Bored at work today, so this is what I have cooked up. I have been around the MIAC for a relatively short time, 6 years. SO I have compiled my best guess at the top teams that the league has seen in that time. Feel free to rip me if you feel its appropriate.

1: SJU 2003: Undefeated National Champs
2. SJU 2002: National Semifinal included a 21-14 win in Linfield for Regional Final game
3. Cord - 2004: Ran the table in the MIAC. Season ends in 2nd round of NCAA 42-40 to OXY in the dome. (Game should have been outside) >:(
4. SJU - 2006: Regional Final run ended at UWW by only 3 points
5. Cord -  2005: 2 losses on the season were to SJU (hail mary) and Brett Elliot's defending NC squad in Linfield
6. SJU - 2005: They got by Cord in aclassic (Gearman) but get smoked by the Warhawks in Whitewater in the 2nd round.
7. Bethel - 2006: Royals are co-MIAC champs, by virtue of beating Johnnies and fall by 7 at LaCrosse
8. Bethel - 2003: Loss to SJU gives Gags #409, then they take one on the chin 21-7 vs Wartburg in NCAAs

Top "Also Rans" = Cord - 2003, SJU - 2004, STO - 2006

Any Debate on this subject??

If not, how bout this

bennie,
Do you want ZIP or me to hold your reserved seat tomorrow or are you going to the Duck game?  :-\

I am planning to be here with you all! I might be a little late. It depends on how bad traffic is around town here! :D

So, sky blue water refers to Minnesota or Washington State (Olympia brewing, right?) ?

Outlawed-when I get up we are going to do something about that-maybe some civil disobedience. ;D

Ah, waffles...................................
Olympia was, "Made with water from pure atrisian wells."

Oly was also "It's the water and whole lot more."

Seacrest Out

With the number of drunk "Ducks" there will be around here tomorrow, I guess that means that the Willamette river is made of beer! Hmmm...fans do have to cross a footbridge over the Willamette to get from campus to Autzen Stadium! ;D

I don't know if I would put a 2 loss cobber team in the top 3 MIAC teams of the past 5 years, but this bit of mascot enthusiasm is pretty exciting. ::)  I especially love the music in the background, theme music for a loss to Bethel.

Post has been modified. I mistakenly had the two Cord teams mixed up.

wahoo - Remember you yelling at me for divulging Bass' transfer AWAY from Olaf that year? I hope you're yelling at me again tomorrow in frustration after a Gustie monkeystomp :)

Willy -- I don't remember ever discussing Mr. Bass on this board before. It might have been another Ole backer. I could be wrong though.

Classic Ritzy, you are my idol.

M&G: I know you said you've only been around for 6 yrs, but the 2000 SJU squad that lost on a last second FG in the Stagg Bowl to MUCk was a mighty fine team.  In fact, I think I could make an argument they were as good or better than the 2003 Nat'l Title team.  Just an FYI...

TT- Won't argue with you on that one, losing 10-7?? in the Stagg to MUC is not too shabby
