I wonder if the attendance will approach 13k... thoughts?

We'll hold up our end--it's homecoming.  What can you Oles bring in?

We're coming and bringing five extra from the left coast to swell the Johnnie faithful.  8)

The Oles can bring in the best choir ever!  Don't know if they will be interested in the game though.

3.  Remember, the Johnnies are not a team of superhumans, no matter what you read on here.  They are just regular people.

Oles 27, Johnnies 23

I can attest to that... i played on the ole teams that won in '01 and '04, almost took 2002 as well, we started up 14-0 or 21-0 cant remember, but just didnt have the depth to keep it up.

The olaf offense is going to rock the world on sat, just way too fast on that turf for sju to keep up.
Um YA YA!

The only team I've ever seen out-speed the Johnnies was PLU in '99. If the Oles are faster than us on Saturday, find me some hat sauce, because I'll have some eatin' to do.
Nice day, huh?

Not that I really need to prove anything, but:

2001 - You guys had a pretty good team, but we were extremely young and inexperienced at that point.  Had that game been played at the end of the season, the outcome would have been very different (we ended up in the semis that year)

2002 - I don't know what you're smoking, but 59-20 isn't even close.  Sure, you were close for a quarter due to some early turnovers, but we left no doubt in the remaining 3 quarters.  If you almost took us in 2002, we almost took Mount Union in 2001, and I will readily admit that they had their way with us.

A tradition unrivaled...

Man you guys are delusional.  I hope it is just unbridled enthusiasm for the alma mater and nothing more (but I am afraid the Oles are Trolling for trouble this week). Jeezus, I am a big believer in the present and the now.  But when you clowns continue to spout off with no regard, it must be called out.  History is bound to repeat itself.  When was the last time Olaf won the MIAC title?  When was the last time they played in front of 5K. Let alone 7K or 8K or 10K or god forbid 12K??

Team speed is definitely one of the Johnnie's strenghts; however, its not at the specialist positions that they really kill you with speed, its on the lines. At WR/DB/RB/LB, etc. I would bet there really isn't too much disparity between the Oles/Johnnies. Historically (recent), its the speed of the D-Line that is probably the greatest competitive advantage SJU has vs. other teams.

Not that it matters, but if you look at last weeks Box Score there was more than 5k @ the Olaf/GAC game. TT and others, do you honestly think that playing in front of more people will hurt the Oles? I hope you're not serious. I have no clue whether you played or not, but just from that comment I can tell you didn't.

The crowds effect teams.  It is a proven fact.  You can't audible as well.  A couple kids pee their drawers (See: Parnell) annually.  Nobody including yourself admits it, but the sea of red is a factor.

The game is either a overwhelming Monkey Stomp or a close game.  To me there is no in between.

Not sure I can be the voice of reason TDT. I'm still pissed I won't be able to see Jessica Biel in that Wonder Woman costume.  :o

I will say that it I think it would have been better for the Ole's if SJU had won in a Monkey Stomp last Saturday. Coach G will have the Johnnies cranked up, and it's Homecoming to boot.

I'll take that as a "yes" that you didn't play. Does SJU play better when they have bigger crowds behind them?.... maybe.  Do the crowds at SJU impact the opposing team's ability to audible? absolutely not. If a kid is going to s**t his pants on a 3rd and 12 in the 4th, he is going to do it whether its in front of 12k or 12. I know you want to think that somehow you personally impact the outcome of the game by showing up, but you don't. You play for the kid on your right and on your left, thats it. If the only reason you show up is to play in front of crowds, you probably went to SJU and wear #57 along with 5 other kids.

So are you saying the crowds have no impact in sports or just at SJU? and if just at SJU-why not.

Buckman

I have returned from the wonderful states of Kansas and Missouri (actually got back Monday night) and a weekend of racing and drinking.  My brother, dad and I attended the NASCAR races in Kansas City this past weekend.  We were some of the very few who endured both rain delays on Sunday and ended up sitting in the very front row.  Although the second rain delay of an hour or so, well I guess I can't tell you how long it was because I have absoutely no idea, was probably not the best as it allowed us all to continue drinking way more than we should have.  It was great time.  I have never seen my old man that drunk.

Best conversation of the weekend was Monday Morning..keeping in mind we all stayed until the end of the race...
Dad:  Did Kenseth hang on to win?
Me:  No Dad, he finished 31st.
Immediately followed by my brother sprinting to the bathroom to empty his stomach.
