In terms of the Stiftungsfestivities, as always, we will have the best burgers in the world along with pork patties, the latter from Ruck's meat market in Belle Plaine. Wonderful koolaid courtesy of Finsleft, brats from Veek and jello shots from Raiderguy. Bring a culinary delight to share. We will be setting up in the parking lot above the scoreboard end of the field around 9:00 a.m. Oles are certainly welcome to join us.

I think ill be getting up there pretty early...aiming for 10, and will try and stop by

Also this week's match up between STO and SJU isn't going to be as good of a game as STO faithful would hope.  I see the Johnnies executing well and winning big!!

Did anyone watch the Stars/Avs game? They had a funny story about one of the Dallas defensemen. Dallas is kind of known for having quite a few Finnish players on their team, so a member of the Dallas press asked Matt Niskanen how his English was coming. He said it was pretty good, though he does have a bit of a Minnesota accent. The guy is from Virginia, MN. Someone didn't do their homework!

That is classic!  Nisky played at UMD and would have been a Gopher, but tDon wanted him to spend a year in the USHL first.  I'm glad he made the Dallas roster-- good to see Minnesota kids making it in the pros-- despite their troubles with the language...

The Wild game is on tonight in HD over the air.  I might need to get my Guinness and sit myself down in front of the plasma to enjoy it...

Hilarious story... it rivals a few of Russo's quotes from the morning paper about grumpy Koivu/Parrish.

I saw the Wild game listed under an HD channel (CSNHD) for DirecTV as well so I set it to dvr. I'd imagine it should come in because Center Ice is free for the next week. Who knows though because NHL.com does not have the game listed as an HD game.

Saturday night's Ducks-Penguins game on HDNet will be one to look forward to after coming back from Clemens Stadium with a win.

The KSTC website lists that the game will be "simulcast in HD on 45.2".  I don't have digital, but I have the antenna up that should catch it so I can watch it there.   That must mean they are using the HD cameras to catch it, so I would imagine it will be broadcast in HD elsewhere.

All I have heard you folks talk about is how much faster your team is, especially the wide outs.  I don't understand why these rollie oles will be faster than last years rollie oles.

This game will come down to execution and SJU will win

They will be faster this year for the same reason that the Johnnies will be faster.  They will be playing on sprintturf, not grass.

I am an avid Ole fan and am questioning the same thing.  I love our guys and they are amazing players, but if they haven't seemed significantly faster over the past few years, why would they seem that much faster this year?  I do think, well I'm hoping, that this will be a much better match-up this year.  I can not wait for the game on Saturday!  Should be a good one... see you fellas there.

So by the transitive properties of geometry, knowing that SJU is faster than St. Olaf, and that both teams will be playing on Sprintturf, and running on Sprintturf is faster than running in mud; SJU will still be faster than St. Olaf despite St. Olaf on Sprintturf being faster than St. Olaf in mud.

I won't say my beliefs on the situation for fear of starting a massive political debate, but I'm pretty sure you and I would be on the same side I had the privilege of talking to dozens of Marines over the past month who had just gotten back from Iraq. Based on what they told me, the private security sector has one of the toughest jobs around and the get scrutinized the most as well.

Sad story about the runner from Glencoe who was attending Minnesota State Mankato and got run over on Tuesday in Mankato while out for a run and died. Our prayers are with her and her family.

It was a sad day at my desk yesterday. I actually interviewed her last year for a story. She loved running. The Star TRibune had a nice piece in the local section on her with comments from her dad, high school friend and teammate and her pastor. Very tragic.

bennie - If I may be so bold as to offer you some advice on making best use of your "Package" Pick out maybe two games you really want to see and use the back button to flip back and forth. Since the games usually have a staggered start, you can catch quite a bit when they start 1/2 hour apart. Between periods of one game, you can catch a good deal of the other. If you try to get too ambitious, and catch more than two, with another maybe as a "check in just to get the score, and maybe watch through the commercial," you just get nuts. Then you have the east, midwest, west thing too. Have fun.

Last night I flipped over to watch some of the Montreal Canadians game, not because I am a fan, but because I could. If they use the same broadcast feed for all of their home games, I won't be watching them...it was all in French!
