I would like to apologize for suggesting that Rocco show up at 10:00.  It seems that only DustySJU's children can handle Stiftungsfestivities + a game. ;D

Must have something to do with his UnderArmour power!!!
:D

That or fear of the almighty backhand.  ;)

Gents and ladies and TDT,
I'm heading to MN for the weekend and as mentioned will not be at the game. I vow to get reeeeediculously drunk at the reception and be that guy proclaiming the greatness of Johnnie Football to all in attendance.

Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

Veek

I'll be there bright and early as usual.

Fins - What's the flavor of the day going to be?

Zip and TDT - I wish both of you could join us tomorrow for the epic battle.  It should be a good one with a great outcome for SJU.

BDB and Fins - Ritz and I discussed getting together again last night when BDB visits LF.  Plans are being formulated.
Go Johnnies!!!

I actually told my wife I could miss this one and catch her brother's next wedding. That earned me a shot to the ribs and a pissed off wife.
KR: your wife doesn't understand you humor by now? I didn't think so. My wife doesn't understand my humor either after nearly 20 years together ???

Duffman, Roll call- I'll be there, Mrs. 105 if no rain :D

Oh yea, I'll be sure to introduce myself to you when I see you  ;)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Pat Coleman

No, I meant bang. Thanks for your concern. :)

Rocco

So I guess I'll weigh in on the game.

At the risk of stating the obvious, this game comes down to how well St. Olaf plays on defense. They've been a much maligned unit for a couple of years now, and for good reason. They have some very good players, but are awfully young in the secondary. If they can prevent the big pass plays that have killed them in the past two SJU games, this game should be close. As a fan, I'm hoping for a game that is in doubt until the end.

I'm responding to the roll-call.  Will be at my second SF tomorrow with my wife and maybe a few relatives.  I'm new on this board.  How do you post you that the message you are responding to shows up?

I am a little disturbed by this inability of Minnesota women to endure rain! The other day my sister was complaining that she needed to go grocery shopping but didn't want to go out in the rain! If I didn't go out in the rain, I wouldn't leave home for about 8 months of the year! :D

Duff,

Your mention of Dusty and the UnderArmour brought back something that I was meaning to post earlier this week.  Last Sunday as I took my usual spot in the back pew of church with my family, one the regulars at church walks in with a cold gear UA mock....my first thought was Dusty and all the heat he takes for wearing UA with a 45+ year old figure.  I promised my wife that I would never wear UA to church at that moment 8)

I will also confirm what others have mentioned about young kids and football games.  Earlier this year our son (3 1/2) informs me that he would like to go to the Grizzly game.  My wife and daughter go to the mall shopping.  After watching the skydivers come into the stadium, the mascot come out on a Harley and the opening kickoff--- he declares it is time to go.  I was able to convince him to stay until halftime, at which time I did the kid switch with my wife and brought by 7 1/2 year old daughter back to the game.  The only problem with that was she was more interested in the concession stand than the game.......Oh, how I miss the peace and sanity of the sidelines ;)

Indeed Duffman;

Not only is Virginia for Lovers so is Eden Prairie.... #1bride will be in tow with Johnnie children following Catholic Schools Marathon, ETA 10:30am.  DustySJU will hit the road with 4 orange cones, one card table, one tent, 3 dozen of "Natural Aimee's Deviled Eggs" and approximately 24 beers for Stify participants and class of '83 revelers.  ;D

How about a roll call for those attending the Stiftungsfestivites tomorrow.  Feel free to introduce yourself if you see me around.  And, yes, Oles.  We are sincere.  Stop on by and hang out with us.

Duff will be there, probably with the future Mrs. Duff if the weather is fair.

Probably stopping by with a couple of other retired oles and a retired MSU Maverick...if we want to park closest to the tailgating extravaganza, where might we try?
Um YA YA!

IOW, just like if you were at the game.  That's okay, KR, we'll find a drunk and pretend he's you. ;D

Just pull over and park anywhere you can find a spot as soon as you exit the interstate - then start walking up toward the bell banner - you should get there by game time.  ;D

Arrive early, before 10 a.m. for sure, and take the first left after you pass the football field.  You will be in the parking lot where we host the Stiftungsfestivities.

Quite a few years ago I brought my friend's son with me to the Lewis and Clark/Mac football game. He was seven at the time. Four hours in the car (round trip) playing the alphabet game/I spy + a football game that wasn't as exciting as some that I have attended (and definitely not exciting enough to keep a seven year old entertained)= a three year hiatus from me taking him anywhere. A couple of years ago I took him to a UO Club hockey game. I spent nearly the entire game praying that there were no fights. I did not want to have to try to explain that to him! 8)
