I found a couple more the Mayor can choose from.

Olaf can win this game.  They need to take what the defense gives them.  If that means we only gain 3-5 yards a play then I will be happy.  Those plays might be open if SJU chooses to focus on the deep plays.  If you hit enough of those short plays then one might break free for a big gain.  It will also likely be in the middle of the field to counter the speed at LB.  Get a good drive moving the ball with small plays and the safties start to creep up, and the speed of the Olaf receivers could get open.  Haberman could be the key player.  His ability to run the football and break free in the middle should open the passing game for Penz.  Olaf must keep their game vertical whether it is running or passing.  One thing that impresses me about SJU is the ability to always have multiple players around the ball.

Prediction:

31-28 for the Oles.  The kicking game is the most underrated part of the game, and Fortman is the real deal.

Growing up with Fortman and watching him kick for many years, I can assure you he is the real deal.  Though, with the recent posts by OleFan, I am shocked that there is not any comparison to a Texas HS kicker anywhere.  ;)

Cheesey pete, you still talking about the game?  What has this board come to?  ???

Bennie/retagent: Please advise as to the cost for the Center Ice NHL Package.  I am considering it to watch the Wild games.  I'll be enjoying the Free Preview week for now...

BlueDevil Bob: Mark the 27th of October on your calendar for a trip to Collegeville.  Chances are good the President and Chairman of the Classless A$$hole Club will be presiding and you would be the Guest of Honor at the Stiftungsfestivities.

Rocco: Are you a Johnnie fan?  We need to know your affiliation ASAP (so the karma circle jerk can proceed if needed).

Lots of good action today.  Enjoy the Festivities tomorrow.

Here's hoping at SJU plays a good game tomorrow and gives me something to cheer about, as opposed to the Cubs who look like they all took Alex Kofoed inconsistency classes.

I found a couple more the Mayor can choose from.

A few years ago one of the local high school's swim team had t-shirts that said "Stroke it long and hard" with a cartoon picture of someone swimming freestyle. :o Yeah, I am sure they were talking about their swim stroke! ;) I have no idea how they got those shirts past their advisor. My first reaction was shock that these students would have a school sanctioned shirt with that on it. My second reaction was to wonder where I could get one! :-*

I played at Macalester in the late 90's and was a teammate for a season of the notorious OneArmedScot. I've been reading this board for a long time, but have never really posted, because, lets face it, who wants to talk about Mac football.

To answer your question, I have a ton of respect for Johnnie football and think they are a great program. But no, I wouldn't classify myself as a Johnnie "fan". I do, however, share your absolute, unconditional hatred for the Tommies. Does that count for something in said karma circle jerk?

Right now it is $149. I think it goes up to $169 in a few weeks.

From today's Daily Planet:

Patnode prepared for another very busy day.

Did you know:

  • His older brother went to St. Olaf, and played football there?
  • His sister goes to Bethel?

You want to know what just occurred to me (other than the fact that the Red Sox are the best team ever to grace the game of baseball) ?  I don't think that a single Johnnie fan has uttered the phrase "monkey stomp" on the board this week.  You all MUST be nervous for that to happen.
