The Johnnies are always behind their team and good hearted,  but SJU09  your post on the IIAC board is very stupid IMHO.

IMHO, as well.  Vicious troll baiting and unwarranted.  As opposed to delicious troll baiting, which is to be encouraged.

I actually prefer my trolls braised in a white wine sauce with shallots and parsnips.

I also prefer my bears baited. I guess I still have a groundling in me.

Hey Kilted Rat,

"Not only did I pass, I beat the mean by a 1.33 Standard Deviations!"

my question is this:  In which direction?????!!!

Dr. Johnnie

The good way :)

Based on last years scores, I hit somewhere around the 87th percentile :)

congrats KR....deviation is a word not often associated with you?  :)

What's that old Seinfeld joke? You always hear about the doctors who graduate at the top of their classes? Who are the ones graduating at the bottom, and how do I avoid them?

Here's honest and simple. Unless you're A) his parents B) Coach Meidt or C) a STO Dean, it's not any business of yours what has or hasn't occurred off the field nor any consequences that follow. If I am wrong in being upset about potentially harmful rumors of this nature being spread on this site, someone please let me know and I won't make a big deal out of anything like this ever again. If I am right, can we just drop it already?

Since when do you Olaf Clowns think you can stomp onto the board and become the voice of reason?  Plus I haven't heard anyone explain why he didn't practice.

Great game and great Stiftungfestivities - and great to see you all.  Apologies to all for my distraction.  I spent way too much time on the friggin cell phone trying to get arrangement straight for all the visitors, #2 son and all, which distracted from the great scene.  The good is that the visitors from the left coast were duly impressed with all they saw and experienced.  Three are brothers who pick a weekend each year to travel together to a football game.  A brother-in-law had been trying to persuade them to come to Columbus, OH for an Ohio State game but they picked SJU instead - and all stated that they were not in the least disappointed.  Good show to all. 8)

Yeah, there's a time and place to talk trash with the Iowegians (and for them to talk it at us), but 09's post missed the mark.  As soon as I read it, I knew a Bethel-Buena Vista counter was obvious.

But come November, I'm betting there will be plenty of opportunities . . . and better-reasoned barbs. If you're going to stir the pot, make sure it's a clean shot ...

BTW, the Oles were impressive and had some great atheletes and Florwegians on their team.  I was experiencing flashbacks of last year's Bethel game in the 3rd quarter.

Sitting where I was - at the north end of the field on the press box side, it was pretty clear to me that Alex's head was snapped around on the face mask call.  My response at the time (after ackno, "Thank you."

Veek - hold that extra beer for the St. Thomas game !!!  ;D ;D

Edit: Oh, yeah - I forgot to add - looking at the paper this morning, I was pleasantly surprised by the Augsburg score.  Way to go, Augies.

We are simply saying that this type of 'rumor mill'-ing does not need to take place. It is not anyone's business why he didn't practice. Besides that, leaving comments extremely vague as WW did could seriously harm a young man's reputation even though it may have only been a minor problem. If he did something wrong then I'm guessing he was justly punished for it. We are just saying, 'Think before you speak' because the things you say may have negative effects on other people. If you can't handle that then maybe you are not mature enough to be posting on here.

Congrats on the boards KR!  87th percentile is impressive.

Thanks Auggies... and Eu Claire.

Anybody else notice how the WIAC has four teams in the top 25 in the d3 poll?  it's too bad for them that they are going to start knocking each other off the rest of the season.  Could bring good things to the MIAC teams that are in playoff contention.

The more and more I think about it, the more and more I think it is.  It IS news when a starter, at whatever level, misses or is held out of practice.  While sometimes that news doesn't leave the campus, when Pat Reusse anoints you to be the conference front runner in the regional newspaper, it does become an issue that leaves campus.  Success brings a microscope-- like it or not.

While WW may have an unsubstantiated rumor (which is absolutely improper to spread as fact, but if noted as a rumor, then marginally better...), there have been no other reasons suggested or proposed.  That does not make WW's statement any more believable, but one would hope the real reason Mr. Gant was not in practice would come to light a lot faster to clear the suspicion.

I enjoy reading these posts, as it is the best place for MIAC football news and discussion. I had never considered posting until recently. I could not help but register so that I could echo the sentiments of "The Hammer." I don't know who "Willy Wonka" is, and I don't care to know. You should be ashamed of yourself man. The mere thought that you would spew this 3rd person rumor and conjecture, and then have the gall to defend yourself as a "mouthpiece," is unbelievable. A mouthpiece for what Willy? Vicious and unsubstantiated rumor? Campus gossip? Who the hell do you think you are?

"let's just say an incident with a female student on Olaf's campus"

Do you have any idea about the implications of the rumor you are trying to create? Is this a fun game, trying to drag someone's name through the mud because you used to play for an opposing Division III football team? Unless you have conducted research yourself, or have personally verified an account of what has happened in this (or any) incident, you have no right to pass judgment on Horace, Chris Meidt, or anyone else. And yet you go on to say that you agree what you did was wrong "if he's done nothing wrong."
Well thank God that it's guilty until proven innocent in your world. If this kind of crap is indicative of life at Gustavus, I pity you people. And if this is really the way this website is going to be used, it should be shut down. I'd rather go without the enjoyable and harmless football-trash-talk, than see good people slandered.

You pretty much had me until here. I think we've taken appropriate steps in this regard and it doesn't merit the knee-jerk reaction.

Wow, what a football game yesterday. And as TC said, Sal's afterwards was quite the competition as well. I'm spent.

I don't know what else can be said about STO. They're a fantastic team with some awesome players: both WRs were quite good, though I'm confused as to why Gant was the only one used regularly. The defense was better than I expected and I retract any and all my Deonte Hutchins smack talk this week. Dude's got game.

It was great to meet a handful of Oles at the Stiffyfestivities. Ya'll are a fun bunch; I'm glad we were able to host you as best as we know how.

Finally, I know brice pretty much ended the facemask argument, but here are two more photos that came to me by way of Dusty and were taken by '96 grad John Pihaly:

Atta way KR!!! Now just another 20+ years of military service and you are set!!!  Just kidding, but that is how it happened to me.  Hammer, not sure what name you were going by last week, but how about the young lady involved rather than your star jock?  Oh I guess you ran between the woodwork, see you next year with the STO hopes,
Everyday is payday in paradise.
