Atta way KR!!! Now just another 20+ years of military service and you are set!!!  Just kidding, but that is how it happened to me.  Hammer, not sure what name you were going by last week, but how about the young lady involved rather than your star jock?  Oh I guess you ran between the woodwork, see you next year with th the STO hopes,

  She is totally fine.

I admit that the pictures clearly show a penalty.  I feel it would have been a great opportunity to screw the johnnies out of an obvious call and let the Johnnie defense try to win the game.  I'm amazed at how every johnnie on the board feels the need to repeat the same argument for hours and hours without anyone arguing against them, except for the photoshop bit.

Though I did not see the game in collegeville yesterday, I was in Arden Hills to see a Gustie offense that looked capable at times of putting points up on anybody in a hurry.    I will also be in St. Peter this weekend to see the GAC put it together against the Johnnies.  I hope it's safe to assume that after the last couple games Kofoed and the gang are looking ahead to Bethel, and overlooking a gustie team who was beat up on the road.

Without anyone arguing against them ... except people arguing against them. Multiple people tried to make that claim, though yes, only one felt that someone on the board had enough photoshop talent to doctor multiple photos to show what everyone else said they saw. :)

I enjoy reading these posts, as it is the best place for MIAC football news and discussion. I had never considered posting until recently. I could not help but register so that I could echo the sentiments of "The Hammer." I don't know who "Willy Wonka" is, and I don't care to know. You should be ashamed of yourself man. The mere thought that you would spew this 3rd person rumor and conjecture, and then have the gall to defend yourself as a "mouthpiece," is unbelievable. A mouthpiece for what Willy? Vicious and unsubstantiated rumor? Campus gossip? Who the hell do you think you are?

"let's just say an incident with a female student on Olaf's campus"

Do you have any idea about the implications of the rumor you are trying to create? Is this a fun game, trying to drag someone's name through the mud because you used to play for an opposing Division III football team? Unless you have conducted research yourself, or have personally verified an account of what has happened in this (or any) incident, you have no right to pass judgment on Horace, Chris Meidt, or anyone else. And yet you go on to say that you agree what you did was wrong "if he's done nothing wrong."
Well thank God that it's guilty until proven innocent in your world. If this kind of crap is indicative of life at Gustavus, I pity you people. And if this is really the way this website is going to be used, it should be shut down. I'd rather go without the enjoyable and harmless football-trash-talk, than see good people slandered.

This is the only and best place to talk MIAC and d3football and if a major player for a big time program doesn't practice all week, it is big news and worth discussing.  Granted, Willy threw out an idea without much backing, and he has been known to do stupid things in the past, but to claim that the action is indicative of the Gustavus community is ludacris.  I think it's more indicative of our society as a whole to bring the guilty until proven innocent debate.  Just look at the Duke Lacrosse case and the Dominic Jones case.  Athletes are in the spotlight, even at the division 3 level.  While rumors and gossip can harm people, serious discussions can be had involving players, even at division 3 schools.  I'm sure there were vicious rumors spread that a certain offensive lineman destroyed Duffman on a trap play and I would imagine that those rumors have destroyed Duffman's life.

Anywho, even after the last two weeks, I am still excited about this weekend.  I think if the Gusties, back at home now, can sure up the penalites, making sure Stolp doesn't stare down his wr's, and cutting down on the fumbles, they can give the JOhnnies a game.  Perhaps the Johnnies will be emotionally spent after the last two games and overlook the Gusties and we can take them down.  Who will all be in attendance for this weekend?  I will call Patrick's Monday or Tuesday and would like to have a rough idea of attendance if needed.  I"m not sure how busy it is before homecoming games.

Closer to it every day

This weekend was a gem for consistency:

1.  SJU pulls out a close game at the end.  Good teams pull out close games and this bodes well for the playoffs, if they make it there.

2.   Sell out crowd, and then some, at the Natural Bowl.

3.   Parking Nazis from the SJU Life Safety Services being properly ignored.  You have thousands of people at homecoming; some of those people are going to park on the grass.  Can they really expect everyone to take a bus from I-94?

4.  Alumni shakedown (e.g.   the $50.00 alumni dinner Friday night, among other items)

5.  Trash talking, second guessing, alibiing, opposing fans frustrated that their team lost (See Linfield 2002 and 2003).

SJU had some bad breaks and STO had some bad breaks; that's the game. So STO's #1 DB gets injured?  TS  SJU's Primus got injured but his reserve came in and played extremely well / Blackmore was not a full speed / SJU lost two great running backs this year even before the season began....etc.  Those things happen but you play the game anyway and sometimes you still win.

I truly hope two MIAC teams make the playoffs.  I hope one is SJU.  I would hope both MIAC teams could go far into the playoffs.  Bethel's a great program but they have never seemed to be able to win in the post season and that does not shore up well for the MIAC.  If STO does make it, I hope it does not fall into the same funk.  STO's a great team and, this year, has the athletes that could enable it to do some damage in the playoffs (hopefully not to SJU).  I hope the MIAC teams are able to maintain a tough mental focus in the post-season.

The pictures were posted at 11 am effectively ending any argument the other side had.  After the johnnies saw the pics, they didn't want to miss their opportunity to plaster the competition.  I would of course do the same if the tables had turned against the Johnnies, but it wouldn't have gone on for 6 hours as it has been proven there are more SJU fans than not on this board.

I saw some cars being towed off campus as I left after the game. I must say I was pretty shocked by that!

Not everyone reads the board at 11 a.m. on a Sunday, apparently.

AO: Football game + after party + dinner + going out for Homecoming + Sunday spent with g/f's family = not seeing my email or PP until 11pm Sunday. I wasn't piling on, just adding two very good pics that had been sent my way.
Nice day, huh?

That's why you read the board at 2, notice no one is still arguing against the call after the photos were posted, and also notice that others have already made the same jokes that you were itching to post after seeing the pics of the penalty for the first time.  This will never stop the die-hards from posting.  God Bless 'em
