When I was there, they had space in the grassy knolls behind each end zone. Good seating, I think!

bennie,
With only 6 hockey games to watch tonight, you should be in prime form for tomorrow's Johnnie Game.
;D

• I really really really really want to get to Australia sometime.

Me too, though I've also always been kinda interested in seeing the Episcopal Church version of Austrialia (you know, cleaner, tidier, etc.) -- New Zealand.

The Johnnie game makes for a nice warm-up for the 13 games tomorrow night! :o Do you have your chair in front of the computer and your popcorn ready? :D

I also enjoy ice fishing, but it really doesn't compare to leaving the National Hockey Center with an entire mob chanting "F*&% the GOPHERS!!!".  By far the most entertaining sporting events I have been to are hockey games.  Yes even better than a playing a game at SJU.

This from a university that has a Zero point zero winning percentage in the NCAA playoffs.

Hey! Drop the Puck!  Gophers-RPI tonight! I'm off to the LL to rabble rouse!

Yeah, even Alaska Anchorage has won an NCAA playoff series ... (in the pre-WCHA days when they beat BC).

tmert,
New Zealand is incredible as well. I was lucky enough to go in 2002 when I snagged a $499 roundtrip from LAX.

The only catch was you had to fly on the anniversary of 9/11. Strange time in BWI airport that day -- every CNN TV set was  playing Taps constantly and the place was empty. Rented a camper van for 10 days, hitting beaches and playing golf. Great links courses, including some where they still had sheep in charge of the fairways.

As for football, I see GAC has only given up nine sacks so far. I'd like to see that total climb Saturday, especially with Stolp having just 4 picks in more than 200 attempts.

There are more sheep than people in New Zealand.  Leads to a lot of good jokes to rival those regarding Iowa...

* What does a Kiwi call his father?  Daaaaad.

Or

* Two Kiwi girls are browsing around a perfume counter, one picks up a sample bottle, sprays it on her wrist and smells it.
"That's quite nice, don't you fink Trace?"
"Yeah Sharon, what's it called?"
"Viens a moi"
"VIENS A MOI, what the fock does that mean?"
At this stage the shop assistant offers some help.
"Viens a moi, ladies is French for 'come to me'"
Sharon takes another sniff and offers her arm to Tracey again, saying,
"That doesn't smell like come to me Trace. Does it smell like come to you?"

(too off color?)

Johnnie_esq- I am the Sioux fan, not that poor other 56317. >:( Anway, hope one team gets to Denver, so I will have some team to cheer for.
Hope everyone has a safe trip tomorrow for the game. I will wait until tomorrow morning with baited breath to see if Johnniefootball.com picked against SJU. :)

Hey, what's a guy to do.  I graduated from NDSU, so that eliminated any chance of supporting the Sue, and my brother, who I've always enjoyed disagreeing with, attended the U.  It was simple logic that led me to support the Huskies.

Quick vote, would anyone prefer I change my moniker to eliminate any further confusion between myself and sju56321?

At Mariucci, only in the suites.

But tonight is at the Xcel, so it's off campus, and all signs point to YES.

Beer + Hockey = Good.

Edit: Rumor is $6.75 or $7 beer at the X.  Cheap beer priced expensively is rough.

I would vote yes, since I am confused enough most of the time anyway.

Simply, and well stated j_esq. Whatever you have to dish out for the souvenir plastic cup tonight will be money well spent.  8)

Everything is ready to go but it won't be as much fun as last week at the game, Stiftungfestivity & reunion. I get to prepare by watching the Rockies tonight. Hope they don't have to take the teams off the field because or rowdy Dback fans like last night. Have they ever had to take the skaters off the ice at a hockey game because of rowdy fans? I have seen them stop play because of hats, rats and octopi. :P

Any Gusties out there...what do you expect the seating situation to be on Saturday?  Is there any place to put up a lawn chair if I don't want to sit in the stands?  How early will I need to get there if I want to sit in the stands?  Any other advice?   :-\

The ends of the stadium are grass, but a lot of it is at an angle, so I dont know how well a lawnchair would work.  There are a few places that are level enough to have a chair, but depending on how many people there are, your view could be interrupted.  I'll probably just be sitting in the grass.
I'm expecting the place to be packed.  I would plan on being their about 20-30 minutes ahead of time.  The visitor section is as big if not bigger than they were at the previous stadium, but I know how the SJU fans travel, so I know that will fill up.
Also, there are only bathrooms under the GAC stands and not that many urinals, so expect a back up if nature calls.  I'm hoping they put some port-o-johns near by.

I'd post a lot more if I had a real job
