Last night on the Thursday night SJU Football radio show something was muttered about Tom Stock trying to add lights in Collegeville.  Has anyone heard anything about this?  I guess I would prefer to keep things as they are.  Maybe more HS playoff games could be played there and that might help recruiting, and the Prep school could play night games, but I would like to keep all afternoon games for SJU.  Does anyone else have an opinion on this matter?
I would like to see them terrrace the hill on the visitors side and put in luxury decks that you could rent on a game or season basis.  8)  I doubt the Johnnies would play night games with lights, but it would allow other uses for the field and would be useful some overcast day when we're in the 5th overtime of a semifinal playoff game in November.

And you're right, J esq, it sure is irritating. :P

Honestly, I got a stamped program once.  Unfortunately, it was while I was playing, and I noticed it while I was getting taped up before the game.  D'oh!

Well, I was looking around and didn't notice many folks paying attention and thumbing through their programs to get $20 off a pizza - and I was sitting in the alumni section (although last week it was all alumni seating).  Anyway, I'm not sure anyone really pays attention - after a bit it becomes like background noise.

I'm thinking Duff could have played o-line back in '93 and those guys would have still scored in the 60's and 70's.

As a 12-year old, I would have dominated the MIAC. ;)

were you HUSKY as a child?

Any Gusties out there...what do you expect the seating situation to be on Saturday?  Is there any place to put up a lawn chair if I don't want to sit in the stands?  How early will I need to get there if I want to sit in the stands?  Any other advice?   :-\

The ends of the stadium are grass, but a lot of it is at an angle, so I dont know how well a lawnchair would work.  There are a few places that are level enough to have a chair, but depending on how many people there are, your view could be interrupted.  I'll probably just be sitting in the grass.
I'm expecting the place to be packed.  I would plan on being their about 20-30 minutes ahead of time.  The visitor section is as big if not bigger than they were at the previous stadium, but I know how the SJU fans travel, so I know that will fill up.
Also, there are only bathrooms under the GAC stands and not that many urinals, so expect a back up if nature calls.  I'm hoping they put some port-o-johns near by.

Thanks.  If you get there early do they let you duct-tape a blanket to your section of seats and wander around campus like you can at SJU?  ;D

I would say think that if Stolp goes over on the TD's and under on the INT's we might have a ballgame on our hands :o.  Also, Duff you know that since olineman are generally fat and unathletic they need to cheat to stay mildly competitive with fast athletic and better looking D-Linemen ;D
I like to picture my Jesus singing lead vocals for Lynard Skynard with like a band of Angels behind him, and I'm in the front row HAMMERED drunk!!!

That's only because we are smart enough to cheat...if you ain't cheatin, you ain't tryin...and the fact that I have never been called for a holding penalty in my life is proof enough.

A few years ago I went to a Football for Women workshop put on by the UO coaching staff. They divided the 100+ women into groups and had us rotate through different stations on the practice field. They went over different positions at each station. At the offensive line station we got to use blocking sleds and were told how stupid and slow defensive linemen were. At the defensive line station we used what looked like giant weebles to learn how to slip past offensive linemen. This, of course, after being told how stupid and slow offensive linemen are. There seemed to be a trend there! ;D By far the smartest coach on the field was the wide reciever coach. I walked back to the stands with him after it ended and we discussed Gags. He had heard all about him and was really impressed! :D

Duff,

I will not contend the fact that I asked you to play there when we were a little thin :o  I do however remember that was the way you made the travel roster with Kosel.  You could have stayed home and listened to the radio ;)

As a current WR coach, I have to think your observation is absolutely correct.   ;)
