TC- I put a lot of blood, sweat and beers into the Gustie week preview...when's it going up?

This is by far the best opposing view written by a Gustie in the history of www.JohnnieFootball.com  :D

Yes - very good - most excellent - +k for Frank - but ... rang/rung, sang/sung (don't use the past tense with the past participle) - see here ;)

Miller is attracting quite the attention.... there's an LL Bean ad running opposite his "weigh-in"... where the hell did that come from?

Fireworks would be really cool, but I have a better idea.....ROTC cannon ;D  After every score the cannon goes off.  We have that here and it is great. Scares the sh1t out of half the crowd and the opposing team.  They also have it go off 10 minutes before kickoff and 5 minutes before the end of the half to get people back from tailgating 8)  Johnnie Red and the Stifty crew would love this.

No cannon...I'm still having recurring nightmares from the cannon at UWW... ;)

No need to worry about a Karma hit here GHC.  I've informed the fellas that you are one of the good guys.

Disclaimer: If you were to start yapping come playoff time, I could see a time when we dominate your K though.

bennie -  one of the Hanson brothers just got a coaching gig at a college out this way. I want to say UW Milwaukee,. I read the article, but my retention isn't there. I've got too many other things to worry about.

I'm also trying to decide whether I will go to the UWW/OWO tilt tomorrow for a scouting look at the Warhawks of this year in person. Since I plan to definately go to the UMHB game, my enthusiasm level is not all thet high.It will be a spur of the moment decision.

SUMMIT!!!!!

man, Hawaii's QB Brennan is something sweet...just overcoming the off-filed mess his life was a few year back is a big deal, but the kid is NLF-ready (ahem, GMs in Winter Park & Lambeau take note) and poised! nearly 550 yards passing and the oponent wasn't Principia or Crown. Best part was he looked like he was having as much fun as the kids throwing the ball around in the end zone at Clemens
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

agent,

I'm thinking it's probably steve (carlson), who lives in kenosha and used to teach power skating. I used to know jeff a little bit and he was a very nice guy and solid player. he was supposed to be in the film but his team was in postseason so the only real hanson (dave) took his spot.

for the sju connection, of course, the Carlsons played at the same high school as Johnnie coach Bah Harrington . . . whose character, of course, shows up in a few other movies.

nice win -- with the help of a controversial call -- by the gophs as they rallied from 3-0 deficit.

Thanks for the update, the strib hadn't posted the results last time I checked.  Pat White do anything?  What is ex-North Star Jack (the brother who made it?) up to?  Gotta love hockey season.

Brennan is indeed good, but June Jones is the most classless person I've ever watched give a post game interview ... especially since he used to be an assistant for Dick Tomey (one of the really good (and few good) guys in D-1 football).  I used to root for Hawaii but will now root against them as long as Classless Jones is their coach.  That was dispicable. :P :P

Edit: FYI, for those who did not see the game, San Jose State self destructed in the last four minutes with penalties and a fumble, and Hawaii managed to tie the game with about 30 seconds left and then win in OT.  Good for them.  June Jones then said (a) that Hawaii was clearly the better team and, (b) that but for the conditions (rain) Hawaii could have put another 60 points up on the board.

And in another unrelated to football post (it is still friday here) latroy hawkins throwing for the Rox, is ramon ortiz next to really rub it into the twins?

Ha yeah I was watching that Tmerts.  I nearly fell outta my chair when he said they shoulda put up 60 MORE points tonite.  I didn't even recognize ole Run and Gun June Jones after he apparently shaved off the "Flavor Saver".  That was his trademark...

stanbob,

Lucia has that UAF connection. Good guy. Son of a Minn. football coach too.

VOJ

You guys are right on with June Jones...they got lucky to force that turnover late in the game...Colt Brennan has a great arm, but I am sure Mel Kiper will find a few things wrong with him so will Jaws...

Tomorrow's game prediction...SJU 45 Gusties 14...a late score against the reserves, otherwise its one and done like last year...

Can't wait to see the new digs...am a little worried about the stone wall surrounding the field, its pretty tight to the end zone...

Thanks, and I remember him at Colorado College as well, still have some friends there that give me sh*t about him leaving, but I remind them that
Brad Beutow turned that program around as well.
