Sloppy game for the Oles.  Offense put up a ton of points, but the D struggled at times today.  The Cobbs offense played better than I expected, and their defense struggles just as much as the Oles' did...
As for the "controversy" around the 2-point conv. ...
I was standing in the back of the endzone where the cobbs were trying to score in, and the helmet of the ball carrier was on the line when his head hit the ground.  He had the ball tucked into his midsection at that point, and it was NOT over the plane of the goal line.  Conversion was no good.
Glad to see the Oles are keeping the playoff dreams alive.  HUGE week coming up for them.  They need to stay tough through Bethel week.  I have faith that they can keep the train rolling.

Gusties new stadium is awesome.  Very cool atmosphere and neat memorial stuff in the entryway.

Guys,

I called Zip out on the Kofoed issue a couple weeks ago.  I think he was more frustrated with the consistancy issue than the Kofoed sucks comments would indicate.  Zip is a great guy that wants nothing but the best for SJU.  Let's keep everything positive including comments about other posters (except Ritz ;D ;D)

Ritz,

I apologize for bringing you to tears.  It was never my intention to damage your self esteem... On a serious note, you are fun to poke at but were a very good olineman.  If you weren't, you would not have played....If I am not mistaken you were 2nd team all-conference your senior year.  Out of all the former Little Falls players I know, I can only think of one other that I would rather give sh1t to...I will let you guess on that one.....he would not take it as well as you  ;D ;D

Breaking news from St. Peter....

Terrific "new" Hollingsworth stadium with unbelivable site lines... word from the alumni is that the original plan had the playing surface 10 feet deeper that it already is... man, that'd been like looking into a hole if that were the case!

Please, add a few porta potties.. the lines were "painful" and resulted in a necessary sprint to the Lund Center....

Little known fact:  "AK-11" was nearly set to enroll in St. Peter as his father is a Gustie.. some guy named "Stolp" was already there.

The gun slinger "11" believe it or not is only 41 yards short of the MIAC passing record.

The Gustie "no-huddle" is novel however more distracting than effective.

Main concern for the J's will be the health of their beast tight end Brett Saladin... early word is it's just a bit dinged... he's a beast and a major key to a power run through the playoffs.... Johnnies went to 4 wide with a set back opting not to replace the split out TE.

Congrats Gusties on a truly remarkable stadium... add a pottie or two for us frequent urinators.

Next up for the J's is the hambone... check back with www.JohnnieFootball.com for a Duffman recap coming up later tonight....

Duff, when you get back, nice interview. That was awesome.

Thanks guys!  I did what I could.  Props to Wooderson for lining it up, though!

Would love to see the gusties' new stadium. But isn't Kofoed a year older than Stolp? I think he's an 04 Mankato West grad. Kofoed must have been really intimidated if he didn't want to go to Gustavus because there was a chance a high school junior might go there    ;)

Yea nice interview Duffman.  Glad to see the broadcast team give a platform for JF.com

I think Sfury just picked Dusty's pocket.  Nicely done sir...

Great day all around.  Glad to get Duff on the broadcast.

Johnnie D was just too well-prepared and too disciplined today for that GAC offense to be effective.

Gusties new stadium is good but it could be better.  Why did they not have more than 2 people/booths selling tickets today?  The concessions kind of need work too.  I guess we're spoiled at SJU with 4 or 5 windows for concessions and one stand on the opposing sidelines and concessions in the Palestra.  Great lines of sight at the new stadium and great speakers/sound.  GAC is obviously not used to having large crowds or else they would have had more than two booths and they would have built at least two more concession stands.  I don't like how you can not walk around the entire field with ease either.  On the visitor side, one has to screw around going through the stands if one wants to walk around.  It's a vast improvement over what they had before though.

If we make it to the playoffs, I hope Kofoed plays a lot better.  STO and Carlton were ugly and today was not a whole lot better.  We won't go far in the post-season, if we even make it there, if he does not turn it up a notch.  Hell we may not even beat Bethel or STU.

I was at the side of the endzone. Right on the goal line. The official that had been missing calls for us and making up a personal foul said "the ball crossed but his knee was down before". The problem I have with that is he was on top of the pile. Perhaps forward motion? But no, he went with the knee thing.

I have never seen a ref overturn another one one three separate occasions. Anyone see Olaf's last TD when there was a blatant block in the back on the 5? If you weren't there, it was a breakaway and one man left to beat... he squares up, and gets popped from behind with the line judge 3 yards away watching it. Seriously now.

I was really impressed with the Cobs offense today. I was kind of upset Deonte Hutchins was out.

I loved the Gusties' stadium when I was there - but I went on the first game when you didn't have to worry about tickets, since it was free!

I'd say "side of the endzone" trumps "back of the endzone"

SUMMIT!!!!!

Despite DustySJU & Chewey's points (which I agree with, particularly the concession stand and restroom- altho they have the same amount of facilites as SJU, unless you know about the Plaestra), I'd rate GAC's as the best and sweetest facility in the area. Clemens Stadium is still the best overall ambiance/venue, but GAC's facility is golden.

Concessions were modestly priced (no $2 sodas) and the Italian ice was a great treat!

I've said it before, when it comes to sports facilities, no one does it like the Gusties...and they dont do anything halfa$$ed.

Bland game though....impressed with SJU's defense again.

Sounds like things were wacky at Olaf... no defenses? Love a game that ends in controversy...both teams will be circling the rematch when next year's schedules come out.

Following the AO (ill)logic, UST must be heavily favored from here on out-- they put the hurt on Carl & Aug, while SJU struggled vs Carl and Aug beat the #10 team in the nation... Im too lazy to trace it further, but Im sure the string can culminate with them being as good as NDSU (this paragraph is dripping in sarcasm for those not noticing it)
