I don't like how you can not walk around the entire field with ease either.  On the visitor side, one has to screw around going through the stands if one wants to walk around.  It's a vast improvement over what they had before though.

Chewey;  The architects obviously didn't have new dads in mind when they went to the regents with their proposal.  Next time bring Bryce with and you can take turns carrying your chitlin.  I can tell you from experience that strollers at football games are a pain in the shin.  :D

The new GAC stadium is the real deal.  Had to get behind a couple hundred johnnie fans to get in the game, but the line moved fairly quickly.  Best place to watch the game might be on the walkway in the middle of the stands on the home side.

Future Mrs. AO (a gustie alum) and I found seats around the 50 close enough to hear Brown's playcalls and every bit of Stolp getting chewed out.

Hard to use the homecoming crowd to your advantage when the Johnnie fans are clearly louder.   Though there wasn't much to cheer about if you were a GAC backer.  To summarize the game quickly, the Johnnies were quicker and executed like the #4 team in the nation.

Following the AO (ill)logic, UST must be heavily favored from here on out-- they put the hurt on Carl & Aug, while SJU struggled vs Carl and Aug beat the #10 team in the nation... Im too lazy to trace it further, but Im sure the string can culminate with them being as good as NDSU (this paragraph is dripping in sarcasm for those not noticing it)
While it is true that UST isn't as bad as they first appeared to be after losses to Loras and Gustavus, the cobber-tommie game looks like a toss-up.  After watching the Johnnies take apart Gustavus today, I will be reaching when I pick the Tommies to cover the spread at Clemens.

Hey Joe Boo...I mean Redtooth..my memory is clear now! Thanks to some help from my friends of course!

I hope live finds you and your family well!

P.S. My hands were the only ones to coral that football on that fateful day in St. Paul way back when!

Great game today by the Johnnies!!  I was expecting a victory but not a shutout.  Holding GAC to only 130 yards of offense, which was more than 300 yards under their season average, was a great display from our defense.

Duff - nice to hear you on the radio.  You sounded good.  I could tell that there must not have been any shotgunning contests prior to the game. :P

TDT - don't give yourself credit for getting me riled up as it would take a lot more than your comments to upset me.  I posted my earlier response to plant the seed that you may have gotten under my skin just to lead you on and read your reaction.  It worked perfectly.  Don't sit on the porch if you can't drink with the big boys!  I own you! ;D

Oh, and thanks for the phone call.  I'll see you in a couple of weeks.

Go Johnnies!!

Veek, your dad was well behaved today.  Just thought I should report in.

Points well taken.  Brice was there.  I am sure that my stroller ran over a few toes on the visitors' side.  My wife, a St. Norbert grad, was at scrap booking all day so I got stuck with the kid.  One of my other friends from Mankato drove with me and brought his kid.  We languished in line for 35 minutes for  tickets and were 4 people deep from one of the ticket counters when his kid raged vomit all over him so I had to take them back and only got to watch the second half.  The Maniac is right.  The concessions were, at least, very reasonably priced and it was good food. It was not like Mac where a Scot Dog is nothing more than stomach purge laying in wait.   I got two pops and two bags of candy for 3.50.  At SJU, it would have cost me twice that much.  I do think that SJU alumni, and fans generally, get fleeced at SJU concession stands.  Everywhere else in the MIAC is much cheaper.  I have no doubt that the alumni get fleeced at the alumni shakedowns at away games.  $15 to $20 for a bag of chips, hot dog/burger and a pop and cookie is out of line.  $50.00 per plate at the alumni dinner is downright vulgar.  Maybe I've been doing bankruptcies for too long.

As much as it pains me to do so, I had to give you +k for that response.

I guess I would not mind paying more at SJU concession stands if I knew part of the money would subsidize a decent rat pack that was funny and attended away games.  Maybe Zulu Madness and a few others on that 1999-2000-2001 Rat Pack could be hired.  Although I don't want to be mean, the Rat Pack has been kind of a joke for a few years now.  I suppose the waning of the Rat Pack had something to do with that reactionary PC knob who was in charge of campus life or whatever.  I wonder what ever happened to that Eunuch

Just my two cents worth. The GAC stadium was very nice. The grassy knolls around it was a great touch on a sunny fall day. The field in a bowl gives a very intimate feel but some engineer who had some football knowledge should have been consulted when the placed the walls in the end zones. You need crash pads to protect receivers!

Concessions very reasonable and tasty brats.

My only other question is when they built the permanent stands for the home side who layed out the seating chart. The left and right end sections had like four seats per row...why bother or buy a little more concrete and make it a real row. Looked a little odd. Other than that a great day for football and another Johnnie win.
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

re MIAC Pick-'Ems:

Cobbernation, I hope you understand this aggression will not stand.  It's shaping up to be quite the race to the finish--if the Wittenberg/Wabash game were one point closer, we'd be tied right now.

Everyone, AO (a delusional Northwestern fan) is currently winning the MIAC Pick-'Em quite handily.  PLEASE put more thought into your picks!!!
