Then this afternoon a guy came in to have the wiring taken off of his jaw as his jaw has healed from bring broken in a bar fight 2 months ago. He was wearing..... a Bethel t-shirt!
I thought about asking him if a teammate did it, but he revealed that he didn't go to Bethel, his girlfriend did. ;D

Not to rain on the MIAC day parade KR, but it might also have been the Bethel College in Tennessee or Bethel College in Indiana.

-on a side note--watching my cousins play for Wayzata tonight, and felt they were cheated by the game clock operator, and slow referees.  1:15 left 2nd and 15, Wayzata forces a fumble, nearly recovers and runs it back but Edina falls on it for a big loss- refs take half a minute to start the play clock, allowing Edina to run the clock down to 24 seconds and knell on it for fourth down.  This is after the clock guy waited ten seconds to stop the clock on the first down play from that same series.----

At 2:52 pm this afternoon I became a proud parent for the third time with my wife giving birth to our first son, Eric James.

Everyone is doing fine and yes, he is planning on going to SJU!

Congrats to Mrs. Veek and to you - and BTW, you own TDT!! ;D :D

Congrats Veeks. Are you going to name him Zeke? (Get it? Zeke Veek? I kill myself)

LAB, I can't remember the last time one of our jets was shot down. Vietnam, maybe? They do crash now and then.

Then he probably lied about the bar fight. His girlfriend probably did it.

I'm concerned.   :o

That was my theory as well.

Congrats Veek and Mrs. Veek.

May I assume you'll be handing out big fat stogies on the 27th?

retagent - I intentionally mentioned aircraft as, as you quite accurately stated, jets rarely are shot down any more.  But, with our close air support, unfortunately, through enemy fire or mechanical issues, we've lost way too many soldiers to chopper crashes.  It saddens me with each loss of a soldiers life!

But, on a happy note - Veek - Congrats to you and your wife.  Congrats on the first son!  Must be quite proud, and quite tired at this point!
Out of order, I'll show you out of order! You don't know what out of order is, Mr Task! I'd show you but I'm too old, I'm too tired, and I'm too f----n blind. If I were the man I was 5 years ago, I'd take a FLAMETHROWER to this place. Out of order, who the hell do you think you're talking to?

You assume I wouldn't have asked which Bethel it was... you underestimate me nearly as badly as you overestimate NWC and the rest of the schools in the NCCAA. His shirt had "Bethel.edu" on it. Click the link and let me know which one it is 8)

RE: Your cousin's
My high school coach always said if you're in a position for the refs to "cost you the game," you didn't deserve to win the game.
You can tell your cousin's they can play at NWC next year, their opponents are weaker teams than Wayzata's!

Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

Congrats Veek on child #3. As a father of 5, I can tell you.........stop!
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.
