Would anyone be willing to send me quarterly text messages on Saturday?  I'll be at a marriage preparation retreat  :'

Be prepared to be taught the fine art of the "Rythm Method" Duff.  ;D

When we met with the priest this spring, he asked if there was any reason that I could not "perform sexually" for my future wife.

I was very tempted to say, "I wouldn't know.  I'm not married."  :D

Duffman;  Have you tried the "eScores" on the Johnnie website..... either that or TDT could do play by play for you during your cookie breaks.  I had the foreskin to schedule our prep during August on the Collegeville campus.... Mrs. DustySJU and I went down to the field and kicked field goals during our breaks...  8)

Wow- in Long Prairie they call the pre-marital mombo "kicking field goals"- I guess I never heard that one before  :D

How does that rhythm method work Dusty? I've seen you dance & you lack rhythm  ;)

We took the "Express Lane" class at St. Kates. 9-5 on 1 day & we were done   ;D

As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Mr.Shoes

I enjoy reading UniWatch (as an art guy, how could I not?), but I strongly disagree with him on some points.

However, my biggest beef with him is completely unrelated to any of his uniform-related opinions. The dude violates one of the first rules of the internet: never, ever, ever hotlink to someone else's photos (flickr and other photo sharing sites being obvious exceptions). If you're going to use a photo as an example, download it first, post it on your own site, and link to that. Bandwidth isn't free (just ask Dusty how much fun web hosting is) and when the entire readership of ESPN P.2 is hitting an image hosted on someone else's server, that gets expensive—not to mention the fact that it can cause sites not equipped to handle the traffic to slow to a crawl.

Oh, he also violates rule #2 of image linking: he doesn't give credit to the photographers. That sticks him somewhere above TDT on the classless a**hole scale.

Nice day, huh?

At 2:52 pm this afternoon I became a proud parent for the third time with my wife giving birth to our first son, Eric James.

Everyone is doing fine and yes, he is planning on going to SJU!

Belated congratulations to Veek & Mrs. Veek as well as the girls.

I know this is your first son, but is it the first grandson for Veek Sr.?

Will his (Eric) nickname be Veek3 ?

Sure, Bethel better win if they wanna sniff the playoffs.  Olaf wins and they have the inside track at a Pool C bid into the Dance.

KR: Will Veek, Jr. be a 7th year senior?   :o :o

OK, so I suck at math at 5AM on 3 hours of sleep :P

Agreed! What a joke!
The "example" couple the weekend MrsKR and I went had been married 3 years, had a 2-year-old and she was pregnant again ??? Works real well, eh?

MrsKR and I went the weekend after my reproduction class ended. Needless to say, I had a full armamentarium to battle the propganda. When I saw the "expert" was a nurse, I am pretty sure I started salivating.
After correcting her information for the 5th time (in a polite and respectful manner each time), she glares at me and says, "And just where are you getting your information from?"
I replied, "From my med school reproduction course and my textbook "Reproductive Endocrinology." Would you like to borrow it?"
MrsKR replied with an elbow to just above the manparts. Out of fear for my boys, I remained relatively silent for the rest of the propaganda schpeel.

The basic concept of the "Natural Family Planning method" is to avoid activity on the 10-11 days surrounding the fertile time. Upon discussing this data with another guy there against his will and including that time of the month (5-7 days on average), I realized that this method gives you roughly 15-18 days of downtime with a 28 day cycle. I wisely said, "I didn't wait 22 years to be told no 2 out of 3 nights!" ..... Little did I know  :-\

Oh Lord, what if they get a hold of a picture of KR back in his Rat days-what abuse will follow? ;D

They'd laugh, then if they saw a shot up my kilt, they'd cry ;D

A couple of comments on recent posts:

You almost gotta be gay to run a blog on sports uniforms?

Agreed.
Who watches sports and looks at the outfits the players are wearing? Straight guys watch football for the plays and the hits.

I wouldn't want to speak to the operation of someone else's site. I have visited uniwatch a couple times but never spoken to them or spent a lot of time on the site to see how things are done.

Pat, do I get extra "karma points" for plugging your work on Uniwatch?   :P

Sure, and I'll buy you a Yuengling the next time I'm in your neighborhood. :)

Can I get in on this? I am in your backyard right now, Pat ;D You do live in VA, right? I'm in Portsmouth.

It doesn't. Do you know what they call people who use the rhythm method? Parents ;D

My lack of rhythm is why I depend on medicinal means! The only one lacking rhythm more than me on this board is TDT.

LOL, KR -- Portsmouth isn't exactly around the corner from me but it is Virginia.  Only a three and a half-hour drive. :)

Shoes -- I agree. And they have used our shots in that manner.

WT -- I have no idea, to be honest. It depends on what my job duties look like come basketball season. Still haven't seen the new gym up there.

Oh yeah, you're way up by DC, aren't ya?

Ironically, I'll actually be heading up to DC this Sunday for a residency interview and to see my sister.

Veek

I find it funny how some people outside of SJU's program seem to know the extent of Gags involvement with the team.  Comments about him simply being a figurehead are pure bunk.

105 - my son is Veek Sr's sixth grandson.  I have two older sisters and two younger brothers.  Each of us now has added at least one grandson to Sr's list.

As far as my son being Veek III he would be further down the line as my father and brothers all have individual friends that call each of us Veek.

Johnnies roll by at least 50 on Saturday.
Go Johnnies!!!

DuffMan

The rhythm method is why soon-to-be Mrs. Duff has 2 sisters and 3 brothers ;)

Anyone who drinks anything French deserves the hangover they get. Get some Russki stuff, or, like me, get a bottle of Three Olives, or Level 1. When it's fresh from the freezer, you can't tell them apart.

Hamline (pronounced Ham lyne by Britt Hume) got a shout out on Fox News tonight. Not a favorable one, but they spelled it right.

Belated congratulations Veek, been a hectic week here.  Naturally some of the Johnnie +K to you.  On another note, a double stomp out this week.
Everyday is payday in paradise.

According to Frank at the STC Daily Times, Bryan Busack will start at TE for the Johnnies.  Couple of things...1) Isn't he more of a wide receiver & are we headed to more of a Nate Kirschner deep threat at the spot...2) Didn't Busack lead the State in receiving his senior year?  Why is he just now breaking into the lineup?

Sorry boys that I let a Gustie suck me in over on the uniformfetish.com. Unexpected happy hour means I should just say no to hatin' posters, especially ones from GAC. The senile line got me going ...

Belated congrats, Veek. Just remember where you point him when changing ... :)

Re: Busack ... I believe he was injured much of last season. Nice size for a WR but about 35 less than Saladin at TE.

Also, this is a bit old. Apologies if it was posted earlier, but a passing SJU ref ....

That's more than a little bizarre, but totally cool. The best part is that he doesn't even explain it at all, like everyone reading it knows what he's talking about. 99% of the world had to Google it, and the other 1% are all "Hell yeah! D3/MIAC/Johnnie football! w00t!"
