Re: Busack ... I believe he was injured much of last season. Nice size for a WR but about 35 less than Saladin at TE.

Losing out to Saladin is no rag on Busack.  Saladin is excellent, a big guy, great receiver and in great shape.  If he were a few inches taller he would be playing in D1.

Yup. Hope I didn't make it sound that way.

Never heard anything but great things about him and he seems to make big plays at big times.  I hope the knee heals fast. he's had too many tough breaks. And while I'm glad Busack is getting a shot, I wonder a bit about what giving up that size will mean to the ground game.

What is the forecast in MN for Saturday?  I understand it has literally rained almost everyday of October and the sun doesn't shine anymore.  If it is sloppy and rainy the Johnnie score could be much closer than many are predicting (cough Veek cough).

All this marriage chatter needs to stop.  The more I think about it the more I idolize my buddy finsleft.  Bachelor status has its benefits (cue 67 jokes from KR and his posse)...

Mr.Shoes

It's rained something like 16 of the 18 October days thus far, but it's supposed to get nice starting on Saturday. How convenient, no?
Nice day, huh?

Don't know if anyone has already discussed the Massey Ratings, but since the topic came up earlier about getting rid of the QOW index, I was wondering if the Massey was a small % factor?  Esq. do you recall if the J's had ever been at the top before?  Link at...

I like the Oles chances this weekend.  The main reason that they had trouble stopping the run against concordia is because the defensive scheme was terrible.  LB's on the QB/DE's on the FB?  not the best way to stop an option team...  I don't know much about bethel this year, so I'm assuming that they are still going to run the ball 90% of game on offense, and blitz like crazy out of a 3-4 on defense.  The Ole o-line is very good, and I don't think that they will have many issues with blitzes, and I think that the defense will be ready to stop the run.  The LB's are great for the Oles this year.
On a side note, it has been pouring rain in northfield the past week and a half, and isn't supposed to stop for another day or two.  Could make for a sloppy game on saturday.

Ha this was so frustrating to watch...I think I died a little inside just having to witness it. It was like one of those stupid plays on Madden where everyone slants/blitzes to the outside.

Johnnie faithfuls - interestingly enough, I did read an interview with Gags in the Pioneer Press this past Tuesday and he did say that he didn't know how much coaching he actually did anymore but he could've just been having fun with the interview. I'm not saying he's a figurehead but I got a kick out of the fact that he at least knows people think that about him and has some fun with it.

Anyone who drinks anything French deserves the hangover they get. Get some Russki stuff, or, like me, get a bottle of Three Olives, or Level 1. When it's fresh from the freezer, you can't tell them apart.

Hamline (pronounced Ham lyne by Britt Hume) got a shout out on Fox News tonight. Not a favorable one, but they spelled it right.

Try Russian Standard.  It seriously goes down like water.

Just posted the remaining games that have a high impact on the West Region Playoff picture.

Ritzy can you go over to Veek's palace on the River and show him how to post up pics on the MIAC PP?

1) Isn't he more of a wide receiver & are we headed to more of a Nate Kirschner deep threat at the spot...

I think he's 100% WR.  Going deep all day!!!

2) Didn't Busack lead the State in receiving his senior year?  Why is he just now breaking into the lineup?

I believe so.  He was being hyped before he even got to Collegeville.  He's dropped some big catches on occasion, which might have kept him off the field more.

Johnnie Red

Veek, congrats to you and your bride on the new Johnnie in the family. Hope all is going well.

Heading out to Boulder today to see my daughter and the Colorado-Kansas game tomorrow. Hopefully the Buffaloes will give the Jayhawks a good game.

Sounds like the weather is supposed to be nice here in Minnesota tomorrow, which should only benefit the Johnnies when they visit Piperville.
