Touchdown Tommy

#30510
Whew I am finally all rested after the mayhem of the weekend.  It wasn't a Stomp or what many expected, but it was a solid win over the "arch-rival" so we'll take it every day of the week.  Bethel is on the horizon now.  Payback is sweet and in my mind there would be nothing better than to knock the Thumpers outta the dance.

Ok, big thanks to 56321 for making the trip up with his world famous Polish.  They were a delicious treat and my buddy Veek who has been sweating me for weeks now does a top notch job cooking them.  Fins and L. Bean  8) the luxury suite is quite an experience.  Much appreciated on the accomodations and the pregame Kool-Aid.  It was great to see everyone on Saturday.  The Tom and Carol Arth chili has really brought the Stiftungsfestivities to the next level.  I commented that it was one of the larger if not THEE largest Stiftungsfestivities that I've seen.  The parking lot was full by about 8:30am.

KR: Ran into Mr. Super Bowl commercial at the La Playette.  He is doing well and just recently moved back to the Twin Cities.  Which reminds me, Mark Zimmer has really upgraded the La.  Really seems much cleaner with big HDTVs and he finally hired plenty of attractive Bennies.

Tmerts: Apologize for the drunkenness Lunacy of TC at the Pub.  He is an idiot and knows not what he says.  It was nice to meet more of your family, hope they all enjoyed some nice hospitality.

Retagent: Thank you for the UWW/UMHB updates.  I apologize for not answering my phone when you were calling.  I couldn't hear much over the noise in the Natural Bowl.  I am indebted to you and hope to meet you at our 3rd trip to Whitewater in 3 yrs  8)

Did everyone get to see Dusty's sister, The Dominatrix?  Man that was a sight to behold...

As for the football game, I really didn't see any of it.  I was too busy flipping through my program to see if I won a free pizza.  I mean, is it possible to squeeze any more gdamn ads into a game. :P :-[ >:( :P  I wonder if Keith has ever heard more elsewhere. ???  What an embarrassment. :-[

tmerton;  We've been listening to these ads for four or five years now and are thoroughly beaten down or we would complain more.  :'(

Talk about "star power" - Fins shows up to a completely packed parking lot and has no place to park so the SJU alumni director moves his car so Fins can park!  (Of course, I would have been really impressed if the development director had moved his car for Fins).  Gotta wonder what Fins has on the guy. ;D ::)

Have to swing the big one every now and then, tmerts. I think he moved because he was so embarassed for not having the foresight to reserve me a spot. :-[

It was an honor and a privilege to have the president as my guest in the suite on Saturday. It's always a challenge for security when the mayor and the president are at the same "20".

Almost needed to call for security after the half when a Tommie girl decided to lip off to me. It took about 30 seconds for me to give her the verbal beat-down she deserved. I bet she's still crying. :'( :'(

Fins: Please direct your inquiry to Chewey (he asked the original ?? on Petters Air from Spokane to MSP).  He is a fellow attorney in Mankato...

Forgot to mention how sweet that new sound system was at the 'Festivities.  Man, Mark Bingham SJU '87, really came through for us.  That baby was bumping and almost made me wanna start dancing when a few of the tunes were rocking.  No more Paris, Coldplay, or Nelly Furtado gets 2 thumbs up from Touchdown T.

Almost like the Tommie Girl that was being escorted by a county mounty and 2 of SJU's finest around the port a potty... Maybe it was the same girl trying to earn her way back into the game....

Hilarious.  :D

You can tell finsleft is a talented lawyer when he can give a full :30 verbal beat down of the indefensible.  Besides, dammit, she started it. 8)

Devils beat LAX at their place last Saturday. Maybe they might give WW a little bit of a game. We shall see.

It was nice meeting you Saturday Mr Ritz.  I wish I shared your optimism on the BU game but I'll be happy if we win by 1.

It was a scene right out of The Sweet Season - Murphy would definitely have written it up.  Next time I see TC I suspect the first thing out of his mouth will be "So, what do you like to do with your free time?"  :D

Granted I've only been at games over the last two seasons but I don't remember the ads being so frequent or annoying - probably because I've been walking around taking pix until the last two games.  Now I understand some of the comments Esq. has made in the past.  How many lousy pizzas can they sell (give away?) anyway? ???

Pat, assuming Bethel beats the Auggies at the dome Friday, and the Johnnies at home Nov 10th, any ideas on if they would have to travel with one loss, or if their is a Johnnie loss, does this automatically elimate them from the playoff picture?

A loss doesn't automatically eliminate them -- there might be a two-loss team in the field this year -- but the odds are long.

Bethel at 9-1 would have a shot at a home game. The committee might look at their 9-1 with a win against a regionally ranked team to be more impressive than St. Norbert at 10-0.
