Hey GoldandBlueBU, I'm actually pretty impressed the BU authorities are sort of OK playing Sgt. Schulz to the Stiftungsfest. I attended at SJU for the Cobber game...very respectful and discrete bunch. Still, I'm not even sure this would be allowed at Cobberland.

I have no idea if the bethel authorities are ok with it, I'm just guessing that if they use the Soho lot right off of snelling, it might not be a issue.  That lot is on the back edge of campus, and doesn't get a lot of traffic due to it's location, where as the lot next to the main entrance to the field gets a ton of people walking past.

This might be a situation more suited for jello shots.  Let's see, it was green jello shots for the Lutherans - what color for Baptists?  Is there such a thing as black jello?

Pat and Keith - thanks for visiting our neck of the woods on Saturday.  I hope you had a good time.

I was able to save a wild rice sausage for them, too, so they at least got something off the grill even though it wasn't a polish or one of JR's burgers.  We sure went through the food on Saturday.  I think the Stiftungsfestivity was the largest one yet.

Did you serve Keith a bad piece?  He's posted since the weekend but not here and no mention of his visit to the Stiftungfestivities and SJU.  Did someone tip the porta-potty over on him? I got to welcome him briefly when he and Pat arrived, as I was heading out for the stadium.  Too bad they were so late in arriving (Pat apparently got lost trying to get out of MSP, - your hometown, Pat? - ::)).  I think the best time for visting at the Festivities is between about 10:30 and noon when it's still a bit less crowded.  They arrived around noon or after, at the peak.  Anyway, hope it was an enjoyable experience.

Observation - Keith is pretty darn tall, esp. for a DB. :o

Tmerton - a bad piece?  There is no such thing.

Duff - nice article on the Rat Pak.  I was at the SJU/Hardin Simmons game and I laughed my ass off when I saw the Pak arrive on their horses.  That was classic! :)
Go Johnnies!!!

We didn't get lost -- there was a half-marathon tying up major routes out of our neighborhood and construction on Hwy. 100 that snarled everything else up.

Anybody going to the Dome on Friday for a little scouting of Bethel?

Which reminds me, speaking of scouting...Where has our favorite MUCk scout and friend of JohnnieFootball.com Raiderguy been?
Hope to...and Sat at Stout too, if the weather is OK

Let me know if you are coming over and I'll get you in, and you can sit with son of BDB and me if you like.

Will do.  Haven't run it by the Mrs yet.

I thought this was appropriate for the time of year..

Her diary:

Tonight, I thought my husband was acting weird.  We had made plans to meet at a
bar to have a drink. I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought
he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no comment on it.
Conversation wasn't flowing, so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we
could talk.  He agreed, but he didn't say much.

I asked him what was wrong; he said, Nothing."  I asked him if it was my fault
that he was upset.  He said he wasn't upset, that it had nothing to do with me,
and not to worry about it. On the way home, I told him that I loved him.  He
smiled slightly, and kept driving. I can't explain his behavior. I don't know
why he didn't say, "I love you, too."  When we got home, I felt as if I had
lost him completely, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat
there quietly, and watched TV.  He continued to seem distant and absent.
Finally, with silence all around us, I decided to go to bed. About 15 minutes
later, he came to bed.  To my surprise, he responded to my caress, and we made
love.  But I still felt that he was distracted, and his thoughts were somewhere
else.  He fell asleep - I cried. I don't know what to do.

I'm almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else.  My life is a
disaster.

His diary:

Missed a big buck today, but at least I got laid.

Had it not been for RHB(dominatrix) hosting a house party on Saturday and the necessity to earn some additonal privelages for the post season, I'd be there.  Beautiful town, beautiful school and a beautiful host in BDB.  Hell, we could even hang out at the Log Jam afterwards for a little booster club gathering with StoutGuy and Rico.

Ah, so you let some skinny guys in shorts and some fat guys in grubby clothes make you late ... oh, wait a minute, that second group sounds like the Stiftungestivities ...  ::)

FR,

I will be in attendance for the Gustie/Cobber game on sat.  Any good places to stop and eat before the football contest?

Patrick's on Third has good food (try the world famous patty melt) and plenty of beer choices on tap.  I will most likely pregame there to get my birthday started off right.

Damn right Veekster.  Makes me take a minute to reflect and realize how lucky we are to have St. John's in our lives.
