Do you put a LB to spy on him?

I don't know what they're gonna do.  I haven't seen enough of him to know, but I have some idea.  I guarantee they don't put a "spy" on him, though.

A tradition unrivaled...

Just a crazy idea, but is Gunderson quick enough that you drop him to middle linebacker and make Wetzell his target on each play? Is it harder to double team a linebacker?

I'm sure you guys will be rooting for UW Platteville Saturday. A UWP win and a Johnnie win would give you the #1 seed and make me drive to Collegeville instead of the 20 miles to WW.

Dusty-Bethel is regionally ranked ahead of UW-EC right now, and with SJU as the #2 team in West, even a loss would probably keep them ahead of #9 UW-EC.
But remember, this is Pat's best guess, also assuming the higher ranked teams win out. If some of those games out east or even the West coast go the other way and SJU wins, Bethel could still be out. Pat already has 9 teams from the North in and moved Capital to the South, could easily keep that team in the North and move Concordia of Wisc. to the West, if another East of South team qualifies.

I keep thinking that the regional rankings refer to the way things are now, not how the committee thinks they will end up.  In that light, that Bethel is ahead of UWEC now in the regional rankings is not an indication that they will stay there.  Before the committee makes the tournament up, they do one last regional rankings-- one that is not released-- and they use that for assisting in seeding purposes.  A BU loss this weekend, in my opinion, will move them behind UWEC-- a team whose losses to the #1 team and a mediocre WIAC team is outweighed by a D-2 win; Bethel's losses to SJU and BVU do not have the same upside.  And my guess is, if it gets that far, that will happen.

PC did not specify what he thinks will happen this week-- perhaps he believes that BDB's boys will take down the Blugolds in the battle of Western Wisconsin!

Yep,am rooting for UWP and also hope we're out of Iraq by the end of the month, the dollar bounces back 20% against the Euro and China stops poisoning the toys they sell us.

Eau Claire can't hardly get in because of their record. They are 4-2,7-2 overall, due to playing teams that "don't count".

SJU should play teams that "don't count".  A certain UW school did that and lost yet the NCAA didn't even blink.

Esq-I have to disagree with you about Pat and not figuring in this weekend's games. He specifically states that you would have three two loss teams in the playoffs and he names Bethel as one of those teams.

What if Bethel wins and all else stays the same, all of Pat's best guesses, then do we end up with this:

1. UW-Whitewater (A)
2. St. John's (A)2. Central (A)
3. St. Norbert (A)
4. Bethel (A)
5. SJU (C)
6. Redlands (C)
7. Whitworth (C)
8. Cal Lutheran (A)

With Redlands and Witworth playing each other, UWW and Cal Lut. Then Bethel and SJU can't play each other, so Bethel goes to Central and SJU goes to St. Norberts. Wouldn't be too bad.

Since the MWC is 1-8 in past playoffs and MIAC is 20-12, I think they would overlook the fact that Bethel sucks and give them home field against St Norbert and send SJU to Central.  We're not going to lose though, right so this is just farting around?

You can bet that with a less than full speed Logan F. at running back QB Wetzell will be getting plenty of carries. Prolly resort to Wetzell right, Wetzell left and then an attack of the Johnnie secondary.

I take that back.  After going back and looking at Bethel's past playoff appearances they suck tooo much to get a home game this year.  Even in their best season 2000 after going 9-0 they lost to the PacLutes 41-13 at home and next week SJU went to PacLutes and beat them by 7. ???

Shoulda - I have gone round and round on this in other forums, and have been berated for thinking that subjectivity and history plays a part in the Rankings/Seedings. If "The Guru" is correct (and when isn't he?) OBJECTIVE criteria trumps all. If SJU loses, the scenario would probably be what ZIP said. Bethel at Central and SJU at Norbs.
