TDT, I don't know what kind of stunt you're trying to pull, but that top10 was almost an effective game preview. WTF?
Nice day, huh?

Also, room at the Embassy Suites is booked.  Even if not staying, people are welcome to join us from 5-7 for FREE cocktails.  I will be arriving at around 9:30 through the woods with a case (I mean 20 cans  ::) ) of Hamms

Soho lot is most easily accessed by taking an immediate left as you enter from snelling, the lot will be on your right about 50 yds down the road.  If you enter from the other side of campus, its a pain, so just use the snelling entrance.

Dusty, were you listening to the radio show hosted by VOJ from the sports bar on Co. Rd. 75 near the freeway in Cloudytown?
Who was the player guest?

Big matchup in the MIAC this week. Wish I could be there to see it. Unfortunately, its the annual Ole Legend trip to Iowa to see the miserable Gophers and Hawkeyes and then on to Lambeau to see a suprisingly interesting game vs. the Vikes and Pack. Long, exhausting weekend of drinking and football. In reality, I'd probably rather be at Royal stadium, but it will do.
I have a feeling the Royals could take it to the Johnnies on Saturday. A lot of running downhill by Wetzel and Company. Coach Johnson has the patience to take the 3.33334 yards a pop.

Problem is is that when he only gains 8 yards on the first 3 plays on his own 40 2-3 times during the game, then decides to go for it each time leading to 14-21 Johnnie points, the game will not be in doubt  ;)

History says "no he doesn't" and will end up going for a 4th & 3 from midfield 7 minutes into the game. Or better yet run a fake punt from his own 35 yd. line. I'm not saying he will on Saturday, just that I have seen him do this type of thing in the past.

Very true...he was able to show restraint last year, but I'm sure it's killing him inside to have not done it recently.  80% chance of bethel going for it on 4th and short from midfield, 20% chance of faking a punt in a similar situation.

For those of you who don't want to waste your time reading TDT's "Top Ten Things To Look For At Bethel On Saturday" (now up at www.JohnnieFootball.com), Carl Spackler was kind enough to share the truth with jf.com--he's actually a Johnnie fan!

You'll be able to read all about this shocking revelation tomorrow morning at 9:00!

On the list of Top 10 things you won't see at Bethel...

Dancing.  For example, I am guessing that Coach Johnson (or any student of Bethel for that matter) will not be doing what Wisconsin b-ball coach Bo Ryan did...

So I spent my evening at a formal fundraising dinner--I felt more out of place than a Bethel football player in the second round of the playoffs.  It was the type thing where you had to wear a tie and, even though they had perfectly decent beer in bottles--Grainbelt Premium was the route I took--people were ordering wine and martinis.  Just horrible.

Did anyone else get the e-mail from SJU University Relations this evening?  Apparently Gov. Pawlenty has declared Friday, November 9th to be St. John's University Day!  Just another reminder that EVERY DAY IS JOHNNIE DAY!  This sheds some light on why he and his wife will not be attending this weekend's game--it would cause too much strife on the homefront.

Interesting news regarding Wimmer--it directly opposes what Rajkolsiadkdienamdke wrote in his blog this morning, but I like it.  I have a feeling that, regardless of who plays, Bethel will get their yards on the ground.  Still, I'd rather have Wimmer in there at 80% than try to move guys around to cover for him.

Buckman quit lurking and say something humorous....BTW: Will you be bringing the crew your Jello Shots or should TDT make a last minute audible to the one and only Raiderguy??

Fellas: If SJU beats Bethel on Saturday they are NOT going to the playoffs.  You heard it here first.

I agree that a bethel loss on saturday ends BU's season.  I obviously don't know nearly as much as a lot of people who are talking about it, but I just don't see how it would happen.
LAB - Bethel's backup RB (Bangs) put up 79 yards against SJU last year without even playing a full half, so he's plenty capable, but you are correct in saying that he is clearly no Flannery.

Bangs is clearly no slouch of a back.  He racked up a good amount of yards vs. us in Flannery's absence.  Really, though, look at what the Bethel rushing attack has done for the past I-don't-know-how-many-years.  The offensive line play of Bethel, year in and year out is tremendous.  There's a good chance I could rush for 50 yards in a game behind them (with my sub-4.4-minute 40 time and all!) That offensive line at Bethel is flat out good!  However, like you point out, Flannery is an exceptionable back, and will put up some serious numbers over his 4 years at Bethel.

My Offensive Game plan vs. the Bethel Defense for the Johnnies would be as follows - pass, pass, pass, pass, draw, pass, pass, pass... etc.  B. Carr is a great safety, but after that, the coverage we saw was not as strong as the Bethel D has been in the past.  K. Carr's absence in the middle is definitely noticed, as the dig route is open quite frequently (with the safeties keeping mindful of the deep ball)  I know that the Johnnie O is predicated on balance, however, I think Haege, Berg, Winford, Nourie, & El-Hameed exposed quite an opportunity for opposing Offenses vs. the Bethel Defense.

I am working hard to convince my conscience to allow me to pass on the Aug/Ham matchup, and visit Arden Hills for the tilt.  However, having to pay the inflated "Johnnie Crowd" price-tag is tough to swallow, especially with two full time student's incomes to pay it!  The "Hammer" is at stake vs. Hamline, but a conference title/national playoffs/two conference undefeated teams, is a tough draw to pass up!  We'll see though.
Out of order, I'll show you out of order! You don't know what out of order is, Mr Task! I'd show you but I'm too old, I'm too tired, and I'm too f----n blind. If I were the man I was 5 years ago, I'd take a FLAMETHROWER to this place. Out of order, who the hell do you think you're talking to?
