Just so I'm certain, is this the lot we're meeting in tomorrow?

Touchdown Tommy

Raiderguy: Appreciate your offer sir.  I have lined up TC and/or OAS to chaffeur me to Arden Hills tomorrow morning.  Looking forward to hanging with you and your posse (The Flying T's, Theowick, et al).

Frank:  I received a disturbing email last night from the hated Willy Wonka who said he would be coming to the Stiftungsfestivities with you.  Can you please confirm or deny this rumor?  Promise me he isn't coming out to the Suites postgame to drink Dew's and play Madden....

Dusty: How'd the meeting go this morning?  Did you get the details ironed out with Irish?  I hope it was productive...

Yea Duffman that is the lot.  Jeezus, TDT has never seen so much angst about where to park/parking lots before a game like this week.  Bethel must be trying to throw us off our game...

I've always found that campus confusing.  Maybe it's all the virgins distracting me.  :o

It looks better in the picture than it really is.  The picture has most likely been tampered with.

I don't think it's been mentioned here (I think tmerton cut and pasted the Johnnie part of the update), but according to Rajkowski, Flannery will be running for the Royals.  This is the way we like it.  Teams at full strength (knock on wood for Wimmer) in a Battle Royale for the championship.

Alright, Johnnies.  Face the best they've got and shove it back.

My thoughts will be with the Johnnies as I head for the sunny climes of Florida. Two days in Daytone Beach, four days in Marco playing some golf. I will also miss the Selection show and will be deprived of seeing "The Guru" cringe at mispronunciations.

For said tailgate at Bethel tomorrow morning, does one need to bring anything along?  Let us know and we'll try to bring more Johnnie faithful to the party.  Looking forward to getting a game face on...

Moondog: "Talented" Bennies would be a good start  8) 8).  Otherwise cold beverages, brats, hot dogs, buns, condiments, cookies, chips, etc.

retagent: Where are you playing on Marco Island?  You know that is TDT's stomping grounds.  If I can assist you in any way don't hesitate to call me.

You didn't happen to attend SJU in the late 80's?  Are you by chance a graduate of Mankato Loyola?

For a quick diversion have a look at 25 photographs taken at exactly the right time.  They are pretty good, but I think some mad SJU Photoshop skillz !!1!1 may have added the cat to the last one.

You know I think you're right.  Because if you use your superzoom key on your PC it looks like some blumpkining going on by the east goalpost and obviously you're not going to get a blumpkin on the Bethel campus. :P

As miacmaniac as always does a nice job with the MIAC profiles of excellence each week with a great athlete/student.  If he did coaches, what are the chances that Coach Meidt would be honored?

0%

10%

33%

Anyone?
Cobbernation--I'm not touching this one for one simple reason. In 1977 (slightly before my time on campus, but recent enough that it came up now and then), our beloved Cobbers under the leadership of the revered hall of fame coach Jim Christoperson, sauntered into St. Paul and took Macalester to town to the tune of 97-6. (A quadruple monkey-stomp!)

He did offer then and I'm sure to this day, that that was the toughest game he ever coached. He had a limited number of players on the road, tried to substitute liberally, kept it on the ground, etc., but the scores kept rolling. I recall him questioning what one should do as coach when you have the least experienced players on the field and a running play opens up...take a knee? Would that be more humiliating than a score? Obviously a tough.

BUT...Meidt still seems to coach "differently". OK, I'll bite...0% chance of a profile on excellence.

I am working hard to convince my conscience to allow me to pass on the Aug/Ham matchup, and visit Arden Hills for the tilt.  However, having to pay the inflated "Johnnie Crowd" price-tag is tough to swallow, especially with two full time student's incomes to pay it!  The "Hammer" is at stake vs. Hamline, but a conference title/national playoffs/two conference undefeated teams, is a tough draw to pass up!  We'll see though.

Lone Auggie Backer,
I love the insights you provide with your posts. Many a +k if only I had the power.

You HAVE to see the Hammerfest. The Auggies appear to have crawled out of the abyss and have a bona fide potent passing attack. Hamline has very little...a decent short passing game that can sustain a drive or two, but not consistent enough to control a game. Take advantage of the opportunity to support your guys for what should be another fun victory.

Haven't heard from Piperinsider lately...anything you can do to convince LAB this is one worth watching?

RE: SJU at Bethel

Johnnie faithful, I wouldn't dream of hopping on your bandwagon, but I won't blow it up either. We all know games can get emotional and strange things can happen, but short of that I think it will be SJU on top by 14-17 points tomorrow in a fairly high scoring affair.

I think the Bethel defense is much like Concordia's, with the same vulnerability to the scattered short passing game, which just happens to be the Johnnie strength. The Bethel offense can be scary good, but doesn't have consistency from drive to drive.

Since my out of context Biblical quote basked me in karma hits not long ago, I leave you with this, again continuing from Amos 5:5

"...do not seek Bethel,
do not go to Gilgal,
do not journey to Beersheba.
For Gilgal will surely go into exile,
and BETHEL will be REDUCED to NOTHING."
If the human brain were so simple that we could fully understand it...we would be so simple that we couldn't.
