The #3 team in the country picked to lose?????? Just what has that woman done to Duffman?!
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

That's alright, Duffman's sickness is nothing a Stiftungfest burger and a Hamm's won't cure :D.  Kickoff time is 4 AM here, but I'm going to try to wake up for it.  Enjoy the day Gents, should be an awesome spectacle regardless of the outcome!  Thanks for the +K too! ;D

Duff, while I share your fear about today's game and agree with your reasoning, as stated in some of my earlier posts this week, I'd give you a +k, if I could, for your guts in actually predicting a loss.  You're a braver man than I. I'm taking Duff's score, but with the Johnnies on top. LET'S GO JOHNNIES!!!!   :) ;D 8) :-*

After reading the Johnniefootball.com predictions, wow. I would hope that after last year, SJU had one team circled on their regular season calendar, Bethel, and another one on the payoff calendar, UWW. I would expect the Seniors, Juniors and Sophomores to remember those two games and have prepared all off-season for those match-ups. Maybe that is why SJU was inconsistent this year, a little lack of focus at times. I would hope that the focus is back today and, with two weeks to prepare, a playoff ready performance on Defense and Offense. I agree with Duff that the UST game exposed several major flaws with SJU D, but a way solve the poor corner play is to put pressure on the QB and the running game. I see SJU sending the LBs on more of run type blitz all day, with the Gunderson being freed-up to wreck havoc on Bethel. On Offense, got to expect a turnover or two, but this is the game for Kofoed to exercise any road demons, and play like the all-American everyone expected this year. In the end, SJU 37, Bethel 20.

LET'S GO JOHNNIES !!!!

The third time is a charm for AK11.  His third game on grass this season will be a playoff type performance.  Nothing staggering just mistake free quality football.  The Johnnie D has played well on grass this year and today is no exception.  I understand Duffman's gut issues, by 3pm that stomach will be anticapating celebration type liquids.

Corn Horn, I think you've sold me.  I don't think I could stand listening to the "Defense DEFENSE defense DEFENSE" cheer that the Bethel student section does. It is a great way of "not dancing" though.  However, 1) I have heard that dancing is now allowed at Bethel, and 2) the TALENT they've brought in for halftime entertainment is WORTH THE PRICE OF ADMISSION!  Their dancing, at least at the dome for the Aug/Bethel tilt, nearly convinced me Bethel had changed their name TO brothel!  Rather suggestive!  I'm in NO WAY complaining, rather a little surprised they have been allowed to practice their moves on the Bethel campus.  So, though you may want to go and add more weight to your second half weight lifting total at half-time, take a peek at what Bethel has to offer, aside from chapel!

Will there be any Hamline posters at our game tomorrow?  If so, it was nice to meet all of the SJU (and GAC) supporters at the SJU/AUG game and it would be nice to meet you tomorrow.

Best of luck to all tomorrow.  Stay healthy, stay safe.

There are Hamline posters? Me and Former Piper Mascot seem to have moved on from the Lead Pipe Pipers. I've seen two SJU games and zero Hamline games. It's a shorter drive from Hutch to Collegeville then it is to St. Paul. Plus I get kool-aid and some burgers at SJU games.

Corn Hole and LAB-
I'd pick SJU/BET if I didn't have to cover a section swim meet in Willmar. Then again, you'll be able to read about the big game in both city papers, on here and on www.johnniefootball.com (nice plug, huh?).

Enjoy the fun tomorrow wherever you are. It's another great day of MIAC football.

*%$@ it, let's go bowling.

Piperinsider--It was never my intent to suggest you see the lead pipes close out against Augsburg, but to help Lone Auggie Backer choose to do so. I just thought someone so faithful to Augsburg--a team that has been rather  :'( in recent years--should seize the opportunity to feel a little more  ;D about his team, and this seems a good opportunity.

Incidentally, "corn horn", me, the device, should not be confused with "Corn Hole", the action/outcome. I haven't seen much of him in the last 1500 posts or so.
If the human brain were so simple that we could fully understand it...we would be so simple that we couldn't.

I think you and I are finally starting to see eye-to-eye--the Johnnies have spent a good portion of the season showing what they can't do, today's their big opportunity to show what they can do.

And I agree, Kofoed is a hack.  Can you imagine how good this team would be if he mixed in the occasional decent game?   ;)

And I agree, Kofoed is a hack.

I'll third that.

Last game I picked to be close was Concordia, so let's hope this one turns out the same.

Looks like it'll be a wet one.  We've got drizzle at our house
